I ordered one of the flip key blanks, but am struggling to get it cut, timpsons will only cut their own blanks? And can't find any other locksmiths that can do it, anyone have a solution, or know of any locksmiths in surrey/Hampshire that will cut it?

lol...that's what timpsons are, bloody jobsworths...I shall try to find an independent cobbler...good idea (y)

Anybody who cuts automotive keys should be able to cut a tibbie key.

All Ford (I know, I know... but...) vehicles since the early 1990s have used them in Europe.

I live in a village/very small town, and I know two places within walking distance who'll cut them.

Regards,
Andy

Timpsons refused to cut mine, however the local independent cobbler did it without fuss for a mere £5. He had to strip it right back to just the blade itself to get it into his machine.

Tbh i thought we'd seen the last of thiis and i've never understood the problems these so called "locksmiths" have with key cutting, after all, this is all it is, basic key cutting. I can understand the ignorance of some but a locksmith!!! If i was a locksmith i'd be well insulted by the fact that somebody was refused a key copy on the grounds it's a tibbie. Some members in the past used to send me their keys to get them cut at my local cobblers/key cutter, not a locksmith, just a plain good old fashioned cobblers shop, the type where you can still take your old leather shoes and get them re-soled etc and he has this 500 year old key cutting machine on the counter, slaps the key in there along with the matched blank, turns the little handle and hey presto! out comes a perfectly matched key. £3.00 to you sir, thankyou very much (y)

I feel like i just had a mini rant! :)

My local Timpsons did a flip key for £5 no quibble (and I did not have the code) - but this is a small town and you only get1 chance.
