who is still bog standard ?

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place, please feel free to relocate to the correct forum but....
I've had my cougar for maybe 10 months now, given it a few repairs and maintenace to keep her rolling but I have no desire to mod her. I'm not ctritcising those that do, indeed I admire the work.
How many others are bog standard, possible exception is upgrading within ford cougar spec, for example fitting leather isn't a mod it's an upgrade.
Mine is so far as I can tell just how Henry built her, join the Q here please....

I have had three cougars and the longest one stayed standard was the two hours it took to drive home and rip out the stereo!.

I personally could not leave one standard mainly because I have always thought the rear lights look like ASS no offence intended,

Apart from the C2 interior bits, mine is pretty standard too

I think modding just gives you the opportunity to make the car 'yours'. Saying that, apart from the interior bits, all my mods have been done be previous owners

Mine is most definately modified, there are very few, if any within the club that are untouched even if it's just clear side repeaters that have replaced the fried eggs

mine has clear side repeaters, 6x9s and other small tweaks but would consider it stock
think they look good just as they are, although I do want to do something with the rear lights when I can make my mind up!

Technically my four banger is still as Henry intended right down to the egg yolks. It is however now missing the headlights and a few other bits but in the 7 years we have had it it's had nothing but original Ford parts and kept 100% standard. Only thing I changed was the dealer had stuck a 3000 Tape deck in it. I think they pinched the CD player for another car. Common practice in dealerships to swap cassette decks about for CD players if that's what the customer wants. So I took the 6000CD out of the Fiesta we px'd in against the Zetec and fitted that.

Visually, mine's pretty much factory-standard except for clear repeaters*.

Apart from that, the only modifications are a Pipercross PK and a set of JBL 6x9s. I also installed a full C1 leather interior, but as per the OP, that's more of an upgrade than a modification.



*By the way, the set I have are genuine Ford items, presumably from a Mondeo. I take it they weren't even an OEM option on the Cougar though?

Mine is no longer standard . It took less than a week to start changing stuff. I have kept all the original kit though.

Mine is totally standard, even egg yolks, i may put a spoiler on at some point but this will be oem.
