Hi guys so my window washer has stopped working, I can't hear the motor either. I have a mot next month and like to fix this can anyone help please

iirc the washer pump is on the same thermal cutout as the wipers, so if the wipers are working ok, i'd say 99%, barring a disconnected pump, the pump itself is kaput. Very cheap replacements on thebay of E. Another possibility is that the pump impellor is gummed up with years of screenwash etc.

No it just pumps out the water on the floor

Definitely sounds your pipe has come off the washer bottle - very common and a known fault on Mk1 & 2 Mondeos too

I think you can get to it without removing the bumper undertray, even if you can't it should be a quick fix

It's either an undertray off or front wheel and wheelarch liner off job. You won't get access without removing either.
The OP Said he can't hear the pump so my money's on the pump being faulty.

Sorry miss read the first post thought it said can ( it was a long day at work). Your right you have to remove one to get to the pump you can get to the pipes from underneath but it's fiddly.

often found that if you remove pump,it will come out at a slight angle, remove the black rubber seal thing and the seal inside is normally gunged up as its has a cleanable filter in it, be careful you don't push it in as its a bugger to get out, think i raised front o/s slightly and just undone a few screws on under tray an did it with out removing it is fiddly and can scrape hand a little if you rush

That's what happened to mine a while back. Pump was running but no water coming out of the jets. The gause like filter had gunged up. Took it out, cleaned the gause, put back together and all working. Best way to avoid this is to never let it run dry, only use proper screen wash but not too concentrated.
But if the pump isn't making any noise it's probably dead or there's a wiring fault.

Thanks guys for the quick response, sorry I've not replied been so busy. So I'm going to attempt replacing this in the next few days, can anyone advise me where it's located or the best way to get to it. Thanks again.

best way to get to it is remove the splash shield from under the front of the car, disconnect the pipes from the motor and remove the washer bottle, replace motor then refit the bottle, reconnect the pipes and test then if all working correctly replace splash shield (y)

does the motor cease to function if the pipe comes off?

Procomm's referring to this:

On that basis it would seem more electrical than physical, if you see what I mean.

The pipe can get blown off - it's not exactly well-secured and it tends to happen if you use tap water and not enough screenwash. You end up with amoebic growth on the screen filter in the pump and it tends to eject the hose quite forcibly.

But diagnosis step #1 for that is: "Is there a puddle under my car?"

Paul's diagnosis is spot-on in terms of things to check - definitely the fuse first - though I would usually suspect the motor before the stalk.
