window washer help

my faith in cougar owners being able to read and digest meaning is restored :LOL:

I did however miss the fact that there was a second page to the thread, and so I repeated advice that had already been given.

Let's pretend that didn't happen.

I have a similar problem but the motor is working. I disconnected the pipe from the jets and motor and sprayed air through and it came out the other end. Is it likely that the filter is just clogged ?
I managed to get the pipe off easily but getting it back on was messy due to space, I hope i will have more access if i remove the splash shield, does the motor just twist out or do i need to take the tank out aswell ?

Are you sure the water isn't frozen in the tank?

Yes, it's been like that for over a week, i let it run dry and only had mineral water to fill it up and it hasn't worked since, i added screenwash when i got home and i only get the odd little squirt out. Temperature has been above freezing aswell.

With my work we deal with similar, small pumps. Not sure if it'll work but it's easy to do;

1) Remove a washer hose downstream of the one-way flutter valve if it has one.
2) Use a syringe and try and back flush the strainer with some water.....

Might get it working again, cheap and easy to try.

Cheers i'll try this, i actually took a syringe from work to do this and completely forgot about it

We have to do this quite often with in accessible little pump strainers, not a perfect fix but might get it working again for a bit.

Algee and crap builds up in the stainer and seems to grow, if you remove the washer bottle the sludge that comes out STINKS (and I'm saying that as somebody who spends more time playing with raw-sewage than most...)

Got sorted, The filter was clogged with this gunk. The rear washer never worked but i put compressed air through both pipes and now the are working great. Took me a while in fairness

This has happened again, it must be the brand or mix of brands i'm putting in. Should take me half the time as i know exactly what to remove now
