Windscreen Wipers stopped working

I need to replace my Windscreen wiper mechanism, as it fell apart on my way home today, its not nice driving in the rain without them.
The motor seems OK, but it didn't sound that happy.
Will a mk2 Mondeo wiper unit fit, I would like to replace the whole unit, so I don't get the problem again.
One other thing I'm fitting a radio stalk, worked out the wiring mostly, but don't know where the module is mounted on the Cougar.

The remote audio module should have a spring clip on it.
Go into the driver's footwell and looking upwards you should see a plate with two or three relays on it facing you.
On the left of that plate there should be two square holes about 8mm square one above the other.
The aforementioned spring clip pushes upwards and into said holes from behind so the audio module is secured on the side of the plate nearer the front of the car.
No spring clip? cable ties will do the job.

Wiper mechanism is a bonnet off job for access, piece of cake to do tho but think mongy one is different

I got hold of a wiper unit, Mondeo is not the same.

I have a spare wiper unit if the one you have isn't correct

Thanks for the offer, I have ordered one off a Cougar.

Replacement wiper unit fitted, about ten minute job and no need to remove the bonnet at all.
