Only way to find out is to try it up against the car. If you're having it fitted by a guy with a welder I wouldn't imagine it being a problem. Worst case scenario you'll need to change a bit of pipe work. If you have the stock system at the minute, get the unnecessary back box removed too.
 
The rear silencers and tailpipes will need bringing inwards/closer together.
Find a rear end pic of an ST200 Mondeo and you'll see what I mean.
Mondeo tail pipes are in line with the wheels where the Cougar's are within the arch of the rear bumper.
In other words, about a foot closer to the centre compared to the Mondeo.
