Automatic lights

I've removed the whole of the fuse box and removed the battery and sadly there are no disconnected wires I can see. I can only assume it isn't there on the UK model.

:(
Are the DRL's a legal requirement in Estonia?

There is an ignition live plug near the UK passenger-side bonnet hinge. If you have them, it supplies the heated washer jets, if not it has a blanking plug in it.
I have heated washer jets but tapped the wires to supply the DRL's I fitted to my lower bumper grilles.

Lights must be on 24 hours a day. It's not so much of a big problem turning them on every time but every other car I have except my Puma and Cougar has them automatically. Sadly this means I often forget to turn them on. How do I know if the washer jets are heated?

Look for the loom leading from that plug into a loop by the bonnet hinge and then heading across the rear of the bonnet behind the sound deadening.
There could be two blanked plugs close together there; the bigger one with 7 or 8 wires is for the cruise control, the smaller one with 2 wires is for the heated washer jets.

Any electrician can add a relay to turn on the light when the engine starts to RUN, or after 5sec's, after starting etc... That's imho better (for the battery) than lights on in key ON position. Ive done that to my old car, but now, Im just turning them on every time...

Bringing this thread back to life. I've dismantled the light switch fixing and had an issue with getting a LHD light switch to fit in a RHD fixture. This can be fixed by whacking the top plastic junk off (that Ford seem to have purposely put there just to be douches about using nonRHD/LHD parts). I've affixed the double pull switch, which has right and left parking lights that don't actually work as I only get both on or both off, probably wiring. Problem I've got now is that when I pull the switch out I get the light that front fogs are on (which I dont actually have yet so I'm not sure if they're working) but if I pull it out again the back fog lights do not come on, neither does the light on the dash.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the pins in both switches and the wires to both plugs match?

I haven't checked TIS but an educated guess would hint that because LHD cars had the facility to have separate parking lamps but RHD ones didn't, the pin layout and wiring looms would be different, hence the need for two types of switch.

Check for a current at the fog lamp plugs, behind the lower grille blank, when you turn the switch on.

If your rear fogs were working with the RHD switch looks like they are on a different pin in the LHD switch.

I've just had a look at mine(2000 V6) and, using the locking tab as 'top', I have 5 in the top, 3 in the middle and 2 in the bottom.

As you look into the plug from the front(so you see the contacts, not the wires), the pins are numbered from l - r at bottom left as 1 to 15 at top right.

I don't have pins in positions: 1, 2, 4, 7 & 9.

How does that compare to yours?
