Back again, again, again, again...

GINGA - I'v had an ebony cat (looked the meanest, but horrible to keep clean) and a blurple (Most sporty looking I think albeit an odd colour) and a frosty (Think they look more modern and the lazy mans choice as they hardly ever need cleaning  ) Tbh I like em all so its just a case of right condition and price, and then once I have the cougar I shall settle nicely into the colouristism wars :geek: ... Oh, not keen on the green, so it will never be seen as an option :p

RICHB - Never heard of you either haha, last time I was with .com wasnt for very long, sold the cat before got stuck in.

MOFO - Whens trax? p.s. no speed stripes, thats just plain cheating!

MANI - I had a couple try to get me over to SCC but sounded a bit too gangster for me haha

Need to get one first haha :) our time will come ;-)

Thanks everyone for the rewelcomes lol.

Wild where can I get some of those lovely shades?

Ok, they are like rocking horse poo, very hard to get a hold of, I was lucky as another forum member had bought a set from the USA but never got around to putting them on his black cat, so I bought them from him. They are usually about £60, if you can find a member wanting to part with them. PM "Ace Melon" and ask Al where and how he bought his, he maybe able to set you on the right path. These are the one's I have on my coug:

I don't really blend in so I can't have been active when you were last on. Did you run with Mugabe?

Welllll.... Technically speaking this is the second time (3rd if you count the ban) I'v come back to .com ... But its the 4th time coming back to a cougar haha.

Always think to myself.... If I kept the very first cat I bought, and put the money into it that Iv spent on other cars, It would now be a 3ltr supercharged beast with custom bodywork, the lot haha.

:eek:Right then folks, I went to look at 3 cougars yesterday... And I must say it was a pretty upsetting experience.

First off, went to see a blurple £750 no tax 6month mot, wasnt expecting a minter .... few cosmetic blemishes mainly deep scratches and back to scuffed metal door kick plates, no cd player HU or multi changer (thought at least cd HU was standard!) never the less.. testdrive, 1 min up and down the road revealed gearbox was stuffed, imrc was cooked, big knock at rear and loose steering up front.

NEXT... frosty £800 "full service history" ... "immaculate condition" 3 months tax, 9 months MOT, Momo alloys ... Now this was the most sorry sight I ever did see a cougar in, fog light missing, external stuck on led strips below headlights, red and blue flames sunstrip "imported from america" 'chavs shopping list' stickers down both sides of doors, massive scuff to rear bumper, completely bodge repaired front bumber crack from top to bottom, and alloys that looked like they were attacked by a sanding belt with axes attached.. and then he opened the door, shredded cloth seats shrewedly covered in aldi's finest sport seat covers, multi coloured flashing disco interior courtesy light.... Starts the engine, shows me the full service history which amounted to 4 stamps 25k miles apart with no proof of self servicing (fair enough it sounded good, but it takes alot to kill a v6) ... "Iv added a sports induction kit" he says ... its red and black (black dirt) and could hear it sucking in air from a leak at TB connection. I must say... that thing needed putting down, wish I woulda taken a picture for RSPCA but I couldnt bare to look at it anymore..

Finally.. Frosty X pack £900 Mot till march, 6 months tax ... Very good condition outside, bit of a scuff on rear bumper which will need a lil tlc but apart from that tcut would sort out the rest, brand new tyres all round, SS (quiet) exhaust, inside ... absolutely immaculate leather, plastics, carpets etc, chrome richbrook handbrake lever and gear knob, brand new clarion cd player, chrome heater surrounds, control surrounds (bought them for last cougar cost me like £50 for the set!) .... Turns the engine, pops the boot, clean engine bay, new battery, all new intake from TB to filter housing ...looked nearly new. Folder full of old reciepts, mots, tax, full service history, new lambda sensor, wishbones, bushes etc etc last year. So as you can imagine by this point Im dreading the test drive to find the catch.... all apart from needing the brakes being bled... SPOT ON. After abit of haggling, umming and arrring and friendly banter we shake hands at £780! Along with it came a set of better condition headlights, rear lights, 2 spare keys, the chrome surrounds for speedo dials (any how tos on fitting?) and even the steering wheel lock with 3 keys... Come to open the boot to put everything in, but the button in the car doesnt work lol (any suggestions) still works off the fob, but obvs be nice for it to work.

Needless to say I'm chuffed to bits and look forward to receiving my de-egging side repeaters and racebits induction kit iv ordered from here. Sorry Iv droned on, little excited haha. Pics up soon and hopefully make it to some meets this time round! (y)

Great write up....sounds like you found a good one at a great price.

As for the boot that might simply be the solenoid which you can pick up for around ten quid

Thanks scunny, once I get started I cant stop on occasion lol. Better still the car was only 10 miles down the road!

Solenoid you say, I'v heard of it but not a clue what it is, is the metal strips catch itself or something different? ... When I press the button nothing happens at all, not even a click.
