Back again, again, again, again...

Come to open the boot to put everything in, but the button in the car doesnt work lol (any suggestions) still works off the fob, but obvs be nice for it to work.

As for the boot that might simply be the solenoid

If the boot still 'pops' when using the button on the key fob, I'd say the solenoid is still fine and it's the button in the car that's either had it or simply has a poor connection. Try taking the button out, drowning it in WD40, letting it air dry then refitting it. If what you mean though is that neither the car button nor the key button work and the boot will only open by physically turning the key in the lock, then yes - I'd go with Si's diagnosis of a goosed solenoid.

It can simply be (carefully) levered out using a small, flat bladed screwdriver. On the back will be a multiplug, unplug this but have a bit of insulation tape or similar ready so you can stick the cable to the trim outside the hole you've just left - you don't want the cable dropping in there and you having to start unscrewing trim panels to retrieve it. As I said, take the switch away from the car and douse the living bejesus out of it with WD40 then just leave it to dry. Once dry, refit and see if it works. There's no guarantee, it might well be knackered after all, but it's worth a go for a few pence worth of WD40. It worked a treat on my driver's side window switch 2 years ago and that's been fine ever since.

Just got back from taking it down to swanage and back (from birmingham) so I'v not really had chance to do it yet, but I gotta induction kit and side repeaters to fit tomorrow so I'll be having a butchers then.

Thanks dude :)
