Cat4 x 4 - let the modding commence

Watch it, he'll flag your car up as a drug dealers car, ask Rob!:LOL::LOL:

I see you've come over to the dark side Si! Shiney Black!!:cool::cool:

S'alright, I'll start putting all my claims through with his regs numbers. We'll be even :p

But definately look the best when you put the hours in, the others look mighty fine but Black looks the best when it's been polished.

Wish I knew how to Tim lol. The exhaust gets the noise just right. It's quiet around town and on the motorway but if you give it the beans it has a lovely note to it. The 4 pot is a very revy engine bug like it

It's easy anough Si, just take a vid of you blasting it up a ahem...."private road" - you know the ones I mean! lol, get home, load it onto PC - upload it onto Photobucket or similar...Post the linky on here!!! Jobs a good'un!! LOL

i am chuffed to bits with how she is turning out.

I fancy an induction kit like yours in the fullness of time Alan

The WeaponR kit is expensive to import Si, i was lucky enough to get my kit from an ex member a few years back, but the ebay focus kits (which you have on yours) is perfectly ok, just use a good filter on the end of it (y)

Changing the plugs and leads made a huge difference by the way. I bet it was restricting performance by about 20 per cent.

New filter is on the list for the summer.

carbon looks so sweet on ebony cat and they are a bugger to keep clean but look at there best when they are

i will putting my shopping list in with martin for carbon bits for my ebony cat

get your self some poor boys black hole show glaze and so liquid nattys wax so easy to use and is wipe on wipe of best polish i have used in a long time

well, more work on cat4 today, so I thought I would update just what has been done modding wise to cat 4.

Today's work - wishbones, track rod ends and lambda sensor. The wishbone work was another aftermath i feel of the wife's 'off' on the motorway a few months ago.

Driver's side was shot - big time.

The car of course came modded - 4wd, speedhut dials, red gear knob, 17 inch alloys, straight through exhaust, bonnet catch on driver's side

So, what have i done since?

Carbon fibre courtest light surround
Carbon fibre winglets
C2 leather interior
MIJ exhaust system with sports cat
18 inch alloy wheels
OEM plenum reinstalled with performance filter
Removable rear strut brace
Roush rear spoiler
Split fire HT leads
Monroe shock absorbers all round
Roush decals

What is now planned?

Angle eye headlights
Re-spray
C/F interior parts

How are you finding the Monroe's Si, both in comparison to standard shocks and the aftermarket ones that (I think) you had on V6 NOS? I plan to subtly lower my car eventually, using Eibach springs or similar, but I'd only be prepared to do that with new shocks. To be honest, my ideal eventuality would be ride comfort as close to standard as possible. The lowering is purely cosmetic to satisfy the tart in me, body roll will be reigned in a little by matching pair of CatFabs braces.

its a difficult question.

I would actually say the ride on the Monroe's is a little harsher than the OEM shocks. However, they feel stronger if that does not sound too daft.

Things improved hugely today when I replaced the wishbones, as they were shot - big time.
