Cat4 x 4 - let the modding commence

Well, the paint shop is calling at 8.30 in the morning. Should be picking her back up at 4.30 on Friday afternoon.

Hopefully looking her best for the cas meet.

I miss my front strut brace so I will be going back to an induction kit and new brace should be fitted...along with some more under bonnet bling.

You needing to offload your Pipercross panel filter Si? I'm going the opposite way and reverting back to standard airbox :)

No mate.....I reverted back to oem box....prefer it to the induction kit. Just now trying to get round the strut brace issue but that may be in hand

Well, she is at the paint shop.

As an added bonus, about 15 dints will be taken out as part of this, and three gouges above the doors will be repainted as that classes as part of the rear quarter. Brilliant bonus.

Should pick her up at 5 tomorrow.

Hopefully the finish is as good as the price.

God damn it. Just had a call to say the car won't be ready today.

Don't get me wrong, i would rather they said so than rushed it....just frustrating.

2pm tomorrow hopefully.

in truth Manos i was prepared for it not being ready today. Just made arrangements as they were fairly sure it would be done.

Anywho - collecting tomorrow all being well.....in time to show her off at Castleford.

they should be Rik.

I am just having trouble getting hold of Pete (partner in crime) has he is away farming. The bits you need are locked in his garage.

I should be able to get at them tomorrow evening, just can't absolutely guarantee it.

Bring some pennies with you just in case.....not going to be asking silly money.

Looking good Si - ebonies certainly do buff up well don't they. You should have kept the Momo steering wheel mate - then the gear stick wouldn't look so out of place. As for the below

...........MAYBE you would edge it in the wet - but on a nice dry twisty track I'd have you any day - bring her to Silverstone and I'll show you ( if Mark ever finishes the rebuild that is) :devilish:

Hope the incredible hulk will be ready for ford fair then mofo dude! will be interesting to see!

I love you collection Si dude. I bet your the type of person who has no problems with deciding which cat to use in the snow!!!!!

Got her back today.

Not happy with the results of the machine polish...but that's mainly because my wings and bonnet are in such poor condition.

As for the paint...I am 90 per cent happy with it.

Near side was in really bad condition according to the garage.

Finish is not absolute perfection but its miles and miles better than it was

I am mindful my expectations were very high and unrealistic peter. I have deep gouges in my wings and bonnet which I was hopeful the machine polish would sort....but it hasn't.

Well...the finish on the new paint is slightly textured compared to the original...but at the end of the day it will be different paint. And it will need another polish soon too.

Si, it should be the same mate, I had my whole car done and some of the sliver is the standard paint that did not need doing and you would never know. You have seen my car for yourself, none of my paint is textured. I would go back if I was you.

Sounds like "orange peel" Si. A lot of paint sprayers prefer this effect as it is closer the the original finish, but really should have flatted it to match the old worn paint. Time and polish should sort that though, if your at cas tomorrow i'll cast an eye over it .
