Big job like you had Peter would have finished with slight orange peel, but the finishers would have flatted it all down before the final polish routine.

depends what they used as well ! base and clear is usually pretty flat , i've just used ppg deltron black on my xr4 and thats got a peel to it , flat and polish will sort that out !
haha , if it's peely it's usually means it's got a good thick coat of paint on , gives you something to polish without going through ! with a bit of effort you can make it look like glass !

Orange peel would be a fair description, although when i say there is a difference in appearance/texture I mean an extremely minor one visible only from mm away and if you are specifically looking for it.
I was pre warned it would need anothe good polish.
That said, your opinion will as always been gratefully recieved.
What i would point out, that particularly the near side, the texture of that paint before this work was like chalk and cheese compared to the door if you looked closely....it was brick-dust-like compared to the rest of the car.
I am happy enough, and I didn't pay a fortune.
so long as you're happy that's all that counts !! and with a bit of work fantastic finishes can be achieved through polishing
Just an ickle update..... the paint work has been given the thumbs up by a couple of people who's judgement i trust, however, the machine polishing is poor.
I took the car back to the paint shop, who were apologetic and will be doing it again next week.

It should look pretty good when done mate, are they going to polish the new paint as well?
Yes mate. It's mainly the new paint I am bothered about. My wings and bonnet are in really poor condition. I would love to source replacements in excellent condition
Both black cars that I have broken had worse panels than mine.

I am sure you will come across some panels in time Si......... Or just have them all resprayed in the future ?
it would cost too much to respray both doors, both wings and the bonnet...can't justify it.

If you are going to keep the car then it must be worth it ?
Or are you going to look for good bits off other cars to get what you need to make it nice ?
Just been told my daughter needs a new dress for her Irish dancing peter....so further paint work is way down the list
