Cat4 x 4 - let the modding commence

Looks good Si, needs lowering like the others have said and perhaps some blue (goes well with black and white) perhaps calipers or mud-flaps.....after all you are a copper you need some blue lights on it

Not my cup of tea (I preferred your chrome 18s), but the quality of the work on the wheels appears to be top notch. On the caliper subject, I think with that colour scheme then gloss black calipers, perhaps with a white decal, are the way to go.

I understand your perspective rich. I still own both sets, so I can alternate lol.

They are a complete contrast and will not be everyone's cup of tea...but then neither are chrome.

I now need to 'accent' the car.

Stripes have crossed my mind, but I may go for a couple of subtle decals.

Agree with you on the caliper front.

If I can ever be bothered, gloss black is definitely the way to go.

Bloody thing is off the road at the minute...my Jack broke yesterday, slipped and made good friends with my radiator.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.............Si, I feel for you matey, just when you were making some head way. Hope it doesn't cost too much to sort it. Have you got another rad to stick in it??

I have 6 radiators lol.

She is at Petes being repaired again.
A couple of other things were needed to.

Luckily, Pete was at mine with his trailer at the time as he was bringing over the cougar we have put up for sale.

So, I only have labour charges.

It could have been far worse.

Funny you should say that, my jack broke yesterday, just as I was about to start spinning the nuts off. The threads in the nylon bit just gave way with an almight bang and the car dropped straight to the floor, I hate to think of the consequences if I'd actually managed to get the wheel off before it happened.

I am not so sure about the new wheels Si, I liked your old ones better. I think it depends on what look you are going for. The new ones are quite in your face against the black car. I think you need something else white on the car to break it up a bit. I am all for the crazy stuff and I hope you find the right balance with it.

Thanks peter.

If we all conformed to the easy mods all the big cats would look the same.

I have a couple of plans and I may possibly...and I stress possibly have a plan in mind for lowering it.

Depends if a long awaited on/off purchase goes ahead

Yes that is true, and you know full well I am as far out there as you can get with my car. I personally think that lowering it will not change much as the new wheels are so bright against the black of the car. I think some decals would work great and do the job of blending them in a bit better.
I can not fault you for doing something different, it is what I love about modding cars. As long as you like it then all is good. BTW they do look in great condition and look like a quality finish on them.

The finish is outstanding. Just the little details with the decals put on before the lacquer.

Do i consider stripes (over the top of the car) like Tony had?

Stripe down the side like i have had before.

Or keep it simple with a ukcougar decal in the window in white?

Hmm

I like the idea of the stripes and maybe a simple pin stripe down the side of the car following the curve of the car would work well.
You know who to speak to about all this as well. Looking forward to seeing this if you go ahead with it.

Side stripes along towards the base of the doors (ie like on your old Frosty, but white) would look pretty smart I think. Perhaps someone who's handy with Photoshop could mock up a few different ideas to help you decide?

White strip like Tango's grey one. You could do it out of vinyl to avoid a paint job and it'll remove easy. Do it!! Go on :)

It's worth a photoshop of over the roof stripes but I reckon you should do the side stripe thing. I might have a PS somewhere of it done already actually as at one time I was going to do it and have a white carbon effect roof. One of my many random ideas. White wheels, black writing on them and then black calipers with a white "Racing" sticker down them as per the Ford Racing logo.

Surely you should know Si..it's illegal to put any kind of stickers or graphics on a black Cougar.

If you do it I'll have no choice but to report you to the relevant authorities, bar you from the O.Z Ebony club and disown you completely.
