Congrats Rob on your decision to take over ownership ... Nothing new to you really eh .
congrats to the team on movements and new members to the team , I'm sure you will get the club back where you want it .
i would also like to wish Jason all the very best for the future and hope things turn around for him .
and finally I look forward to seeing the changes on the forum (y)

Blimey - I really need to log in everyday I've missed all the excitement!
As a new user it's difficult to comment on what's gone before but it seems that people's opinions are listened to.
If we all act in the best interests of each other hopefully we won't go far wrong.
Should the Club or another member require my (admittedly limited!) help or input you've only to ask.

I'm obviously living in a bubble. I've missed the popcorn thread??
well done Rob for??? Being bald? Keeping fish? Buying a house (due to exchange on ours today)
im sure everything will be wonderful or something. I'm off to work to heal the sick or mend broken people or deliver babies or drink lots of coffee now.
somebody text me if the world is going to end please?

As a recent subscriber (2 years) I don't know JJ or his problems, but I hope he gets sorted. And well done Bobster, after your posts in Lucid's thread last week about getting ****** pm's etc I have to say I'm slightly surprised to see this announcement, but - good on yer mate.
As for the subscriptions, I always understood it's a charge for service (access to the full forum) and didn't feel the need to see any accounts. Following a committee proposition as Lucid suggested would make for transparency, but whether that happens or not I'd be happy to continue on a subs basis going forward.
I think now is a time for Rob to have some space to think about changes without hundreds of suggestions dropping in his inbox.
Cheers

I feel quite embarrassed. I did not even look at the " Where's the banner " thread as I simply thought the club banner had been lost !!:giggle:. Well done guys, particularly Bobster, for keeping the club going.

My fault I'll admit I posted up a link to vistaprint suggesting a new ukcougarforums.org banner as opposed to the ukcougar.com one we have, but I opened a big can of worms on that one, non intended as I've been with the club since 2004 and seen a lot of changes over the years, ok I haven't subscribed for a couple because I sold my cougar in Feb 2013 and before that I was a bit skint (hence why I sold the cougar) Bobster is a good bloke as is Jj they just have both had a lot of shit the past couple of years in their family life so if anything people should have cut them some slack, I know the feeling now with my problems it's hard to keep going.

See what happens when I leave you alone for five minutes, why can some of you not play together nicely?

I think this is the best news for the club that I have seen since I first joined, Rob is a genius of the first order and given a free hand and support of the membership the man most likely to move the club forward

Selling my Cat was possibly one of the worst decisions I have made, it wasn`t the car I missed so much as the people that I came to call friends

Luckily I am now in a position to buy pretty much whatever car I fancy but for some strange reason I have to have another Cougar, it may not be as good second time around but for some inexplicable reason I am compelled to try. That inexplicable reason is the paragraph above

Good luck to Rob, he is the man that the forum needed and a big thanks to Jason for the effort he has put in previously, they are both top blokes who deserve our support

That is all

You know it makes sense Rik, Cougar ownership is just one of those things which is important lol!!

...I'm pretty much a newbie here, so I don't have a historical perspective on who owns the name or who pays for the package...I'm happy to continue to subscribe no matter who is running the site...

...within the first couple of weeks, being a member saved me a lot of money...I've learned stuff, I have access to a human database of experienced Cougar PHD's if I run into any problems and I might have a few tips to pass on to others, even if I am as old as grit...

...Regarding the .org domain name, that can't be running up more than about 5 or 10 squid a year and the site is small enough to be on a free web-hosting package from what I can see...I have two packages currently, one which costs nothing (other than the annual domain name fee) and another I pay for...on the latter, I have shedloads of space, features etc...but that's around 180 squid a year...

Considering the amount I'm being asked for, and the amount of hassle and work it is to do the management, (if you've never done it, trust me when I say it's a time-suck and a big headache) it seems only fair to me that those people should at least get a drink out of us by way of thanks...don't know if there's anything I can do to help, but if I can be of any assistance...etc...So...

...All Hail to our new Overlords...good luck...and may your dump valves never stick... (y)
