Cougar S Weekend Refurb

The bonnet went last year, as I was utterly strapped for cash.

Kicking myself for selling it now though. Is the member of the blue cat who bought it still on here? I know he was thinking of breaking his car at one point...?

Oh yes, and those who would like the car - remember you will get about £1500 for your cat, so only £2k to get the Cougar S kit, the alloys, suspension, sound system... the list goes on! ;)

If I hadnt of just bought my Cougar and spent out on getting bits sorted on it I probably would have snapped your car up. Unfortunately not in the situation now really. Always the way. Best of luck with the sale

Rodders, your Coug is looking nice, shame you have to sell her. You mentioned about the respray - can I ask how much it cost you?

The respray for 2 rear quarters, a door and the boot cost £550, and they gave the car a light wax polish at the end, which was a nice bonus!

Thanks mate, it's just that I need to have a dent removed from drivers side rear wheel arch and also need rear bumpar respraying, so I'm kind of getting ideas about how much it may all cost, as I realise that the rear wing will need to be blown into the door and then possible blow the door into the front wing. I'll go see the local repair/spray shop and see how much they quote me.

As it is a flat black, they will probably not have to blow that much into the existing colour. The side that did not require the door blending in just got masked off, I can not see any colour differentiation. If it was metallic, you'd have more of a problem, but should be fine as it is.

I bet the car looks great now Rod

You still gonna sell or keep it now ?

Did you manage to dig out the Dealer Details..(My Melina Blue V6 has a similar Reg if you remember ?)

Cheers
Simon

UPDATE: PHASE 2!!

I spent most of this afternoon doing the interior. After reading once more through shag's posts, it became a case of "Monkey see Monkey, Monkey do!"

So, first off, seats out....

Amazing the amount of stuff that gets down the side of those seats! Also, note to everyone here - never EVER leave a loose chewing gum pellet in the armrest bit. After a year, it creates a horrible sticky goo that takes ages to clear out!!

Anyway, an few hours with a hoover and a brush....

I'll let my dad have his house back soon, poor bugger....

Almost complete, its a shame this car is going to be so much better mechanically and visually than I have ever had it when it comes to selling!!

Great work there bud !!!

Looks superb!

I know what you mean about looking great just as you sell it......allthough because of how much it has cost me to fix my car (and the fact it now has another problem), I can't afford to sell it.....as weird as that sounds.
Means I will be a Cat owner for the foreseable future :smile5:

You car is looking absolutely great Rod. It looked great when I saw it at Fest a while back, badly let down only by the bubbling wheel arches. It's good to hear you've had these fixed :)

I actually think the car looks better with the standard bonnet you have on now. IMO it's a much more "could be OE" look which I like.

It's a real shame as you say that you have to sell it after all this work.

You will have to bring it to a show so we can see the excelent work you have put into it in the flesh :)

 (y)

As Matt says, book youself up for some shows.

Yes Paul, get your name down for cougarfest, if you haven't already. It'd be nice to see you there, maybe we could drag Maz along too. Mr Pie-in-ear is talking of making the effort too, be like old times.:yikes::yikes::yikes:
