Cougar Spotting

Just like Paul said a couple of pages back - people don't know what they've got. No real idea of the rarity. Maybe saw it at a 2nd-hand lot and thought it was good looking and cheap (both of which are true).

And so we just look like nutters.

Green C1 V6 on the A442 this afternoon.

S3 MYS

Got behind him, flashed and waved to no avail.

Don't be too disappointed, your assuming the driver knows what the mirrors are for. In my experience this is often not the case.

I can be on my bike sitting comfortably behind a car happily minding my own business with no desire to overtake at that point. After several minutes they suddenly swerve into the gutter and start indicating to call me past. Well thank you that's kind of you. I understand the driver is being considerate to make way for a biker. But I'll pass when I consider it safe to do so not on their demand. All it says to me is that it's taken several minutes before they looked in the mirror and saw me.

The driver probably doesn't know what the thing in the middle of their windscreen is for.
Sorry minor rant over but I bet others bikers on here will agree with me. And maybe some advise to non biking drivers, the little beast between our legs will pass easily in spaces that most wouldn't believe possible, you really don't need to risk putting your passenger in the gutter.

Think biker awareness varies a lot depending on where you are.in rural Yorkshire people tend to move over to allow/encourage overtaking.that's a big improvement to most cities where your totally invisible! Overtaking should always be your decision but thanks anyway, most of the time.

It's pretty mixed where I am. I suppose people moving over to allow filtering is rare enough for bikers to thank each driver. I always try to nudge over when I see a bike lane splitting behind me. I've never had an issue with it tbh. Some people get the arse.

In most cases before they even know we're there.............

Rural anywhere is better than cities, certain makes do attract certain mindsets, especially when it come to warning others of impending lane changes................

That always got me too, it's hard enough avoiding brain dead numpties without some of them using bikers as target practice...........

Maybe I've seen this one, but I can't remember. Suffice to say I was excitable in the back seat

X reg frosty on Southwell Road, Mansfield, today 4.3.17 at 12.23hrs had a body kit looked very nice, saw it pull out of a side road, just in front of me, gave him a couple of flashers of the headlight, but didn't see any reply, originally thought it was Uncle Al but no, it had a different reg number....(y)

Think I might have seen that on Mansfield road a couple of days ago, might have been Al though.
