Cougar v6 belt shredded!!

Hi I'm a new owner, I had water coming out the over flow pipe on the the header tank so after having a good look over I found bits of a belt!!,

So if you are looking at the Engine the belt is on the right hand side, does anyone have an idea what belt this is??

Yeah it's water pump belt. If the header tank has been overflowing it may be bad news, hope you're lucky though and it hasn't cooked the engine :(
 
Right I a bit confused.com, eurocar parts water pump (with metal fins) £33 or ford oem £151????

Go for the one with metal fins, Ford have started being silly with prices since the cars are oap's now, the originals had plastic fins which disintegrated causing some people a whole load of heartache.

No, Ford have always been a bit pricey for parts on these but they've stepped up a gear lately, for instance, the power steering cooler cost me 60 odd quid a couple of years ago but now you are looking at 4 times that amount, that's scandalous. Luckily for people on here, Martin (Dogsbody) manufactures stainless ones for a very fair price.
This is a good club learn about the car, there have been other 'clubs' over the years in the uk, 2 to be precise, but there has only ever been one, which is still here today, there are many years of knowledge on here, I have owned mine for 8 years, others have owned theirs longer. It's worth subscribing in the future if your funds allow you to.

It could also mean though that the system is caked in crap and needs a proper clean out!
