Cougar worth?

I can understand where you are coming from in wanting to rescue the car but if you do all that work over x amount of years and God forbid it gets nicked or written off you will lose loads. I have a similar issue with my Cougar but I've had it a year now and I know the car. It's not what it's worth but what it's worth to me but I know I wouldn't spend hundreds on it all the same. Do insurance firms do valuation certificates anymore?
 
OK so I went to their place and here's what I got.
The car has been stood for 3 years but the handbrake has been left off and been left in gear, the engine has been turned over with a socket set once a month, battery has been removed.
It has a SS pipe and has been re-mapped among other things and they have a dyno print out for 320bhp!!
Full leather interior and shed loads of electrics.
There is no rust on the body work. None. Nothing. And underneath has very little, the alloys are original and look a little tatty.
It has had a head unit change and a CD changer installed along with a parrott system and a sub in the boot.

Maybe worth a little more than £230? :(
 
320hp... ?? :rolleyes: i would like to see that... if it is in the condition you saying, even then maybe £500-£700 tops as it has no MOT.. ??

Sorry i have to add even a re-map and a exhaust, it will never make 320hp, even shagmonkeys barely made that and that was superchaged...

I think its been re-bored and it has some other shindig in the bonnet but I have no clue what I'm looking at, 320 was at the flywheel.
It has no tax, no mot, no insurance and has not seen a road for over 3 years.

Would be interesting, i was talking to the parents not the owner though, I'm meeting him at 6 tomorrow.
No matter if its stock, 220 or 320 me wanty :(

Seriously, this sounded like a perfect rescue car for someone with time and skill. But after that douchebag claim (let's see if the actual owner repeats it) I wouldn't touch it.
