CougarFest 2011 chat/questions thread

Come on peoples, last year we had a furore when it was suggested that 2010 would be the last cougarfest as interest had wained to such an extent that it wouldn't be financially viable to hold it, a thread was started to try and ensure the continuation, a lot of people were making the right noises and it seemed that it was safe. As we have all read, Jason is having difficulties with his car and is probably struggling to keep the faith at present, usually he'd probably be trying to drum up interest but obviously he's pre-occupied.
Surely we can manage more members than we have at present? Everybody seems to have a good time, the water slide is returning this year too, come on people, your participation ensures the continuation of this annual event, it'd be a shame if this was to pass you by.

Whats the situation then? I have been at work and haven't had time to sort the payment (was waiting to see how much i'd been paid) but as soon as i'm online i'll sort it out.
I see Tony is trying to drum up support on facebook to the members and ex members out there

i havnt paid grendon yet either, didnt think there was too much of a rush for that, but have paid jj,. i will sort tomorrow,

For anyone reading this thread who may be new to the club and finds the idea of Cougarfest a bit daunting - you're not alone. Although I had the chance to meet a few members at the MIJ Install day and at Harewood I didn't know too many that well. I bit the bullet and signed me and 'er indoors up for it. Don't know what I was worrying about - you couldn't meet a friendlier bunch of cougar nuts anywhere else. Eating, drinking, watching people inflict pain on themselves, waterslides, airbeds, stunt drivers, special brownies.....oh and booze. It's now the highlight of the UKCougar calendar and, for myself at least, not to be missed. Get yourself signed up you won't regret it (y)

I don't get why people don't turn up, we all talk about loving the cars, how nice would it be to see a 100 cars lined up? If that thread is to believed, the numbers are still out there. Thousands of cougars out there and we can expect to see 20 at the national event?

Its that age old thing mate there are only a few die-hard members, as can bee seen by those who post a lot ...ahem...;) some people just join up to get info on the car they don't "do" the show scene, which is their perogative (y) another problem is we've lost a fair few of the old guard over the past couple of years and that hasn't helped.

I'd love to be there Rich, but I have prior family commitments. I fully intend to do 'fest one year, but it always seems to clash with a holiday.

I think that's a common misconception - the belief that to turn up at a show your car needs to be concourse standard. Or that you need to be a diehard to do Fest. It's all different with this club the cars are always secondary to the people and that's what makes UKC shows so enjoyable (y)

I'm currently in bed with a quadraped with a long neck, watching a TV from an 80's rental company

Blimey you're on the balls Gina! Steady yourself, don't wanna Rumbelow off it lmfao

Anyway, is there any way we could market cougarfest so as to attract more people to come, it's the cream of the event calender for me

How about...................................................................................
