CougarFest 2015 Catering and Attendance.

That's me all loaded as well ready for an early start tomorrow morning. Got let down by the wheel refurb company. I put Rich B's old 18's in for refurb last week to be painted high gloss black with a gold sparkle and got told they would only be a few days. I phoned this morning to be told that he could not paint them because they had been hydro dipped, so, he sent them to the powder coaters to be done and will not get them back until tomorrow afternoon.

I have a bag of charcoal, if anyone has another bag they could chuck in that would be great.

firelighters too....I have some, but not loads

Cheers

We decided to cut Fest a day short and left this afternoon due to the weather forecast for tomorrow. We got a preview of what may be to come as we drove north through Wellingborough and onto the A14 - terrible driving conditions. Torrential rain and standing water everywhere. We timed it quite well it seems

Well it was a cracking weekend as usual - the smaller attendance didn't affect the enjoyment of the weekend. The mosquitos again got their teeth stuck into me so I've got the itchy leg syndrome again :(

Firstly, a huge thanks to Andy for arranging the booking of the field for the weekend. A shame you and the family couldn't make it this year - but I'm sure we'll see you again at next year's event (and in Blackpool) (y)

Thanks to Dick for the loan of the cooker (the one thing that didn't get loaded into the car!). Steve for the BBQ duties on the Saturday night and everyone else for making Fest what it is. ;)

We had a couple of visitors - Border Cougar and his better half popped over on the Saturday afternoon and Shirtzeus this morning while we were packing away. It's always good to meet a new face. Manos also paid us a visit with his spotlessly clean C2 for everyone to drool over. It looks factory fresh - a testament to the time and money he invested in it's restoration :D

We also had a new/old face in Kevin (Silver Dream Machine) who joined us on Saturday for the night with his daughter Millie. Millie seemed to enjoy her first Fest so we may see them again next year ;)

For the Sunday nighters - I hope the weather isn't as bad as the forecast when the time comes to pack away tomorrow. There's nothing worse than everything getting soaked when dismantling the tent.

I also think this year marked a watershed moment for Fest - Cougars were outnumbered by 'outlaws' Three Cougars (six if you count the day visitors), my Mazda, Paul's Audi, Steve's Fezza, Uncle Fester and a Beemer

On another note, C2s outnumbered C1s....who would have thought it??!! ;)

Roll on Fest 2016!

Thanx to all who made myself and millie welcome.
Thank you also for introducing my daughter to water pistol fights.
She made great friends with the two lads and she is expecting to see them next weekend as apparently were camping again? Kids eh.
Was great catching up with some old dinosaurs of the club and the new members since I left, seen a few members come and go since I joined in 2004.
Weather stayed nice for the Saturday we enjoyed it and Sunday morning at least we weren't packing up in the rain.
Guessing by what millie is saying now we're home were already booked for camping next year so roll on cougar fest 16 eh.. lol..

Stay safe be good see you next year..
Kev n millie

P.s I did try to hide the bmw monstrosity I turned up in. Appologies if anyone found it too offensive.. lol

As ever, a thoroughly enjoyable weekend with great company and a few new faces.
Some thanks, so if i miss anybody, blame somebody else :), for organising and setting up this years fest again Quicksilver aka Andy, thanks Steve aka spjmorris for sorting the BBQ and d1ckl for bringing my Scottish delicacies once again, ( hope you get back ok mate). Thanks to Vonny for cooking my breakfast every morning and this morning while Chris (mako) Dick (d1ckl) and myself dismantled the gazebo in that horrible drizzle, before setting about dismantling and packing our tents and parrafinalia in the rain.
Of course, it was good to meet up again with the regulars or as Kev puts it, some of the old dinosaurs , but it was also good to see a few "newbies" to fest, Mr and Mrs Border Cougar, and Shirtzeus paid us a visit on Saturday, and Will Leaper made a 3 hour trek to come and have a few hours with us. Some very interesting chats ensued.(y)
It's all over all too soon once again, so here's to Fest 2016

Chris (mako) after holding it for the previous 12 months was to handover and present the UKCOUGAR.org Chris Adams award to the new recipient for 2015 - 2016, but just like the oscars, Mark (charliecd001) was not there to receive it, so in his absence, i have it in my possession for delivery to Mark sometime this week.(y)

Did I miss anything? ;)

I'm still sorry to have missed this, as it was a week later last year I thought it wouldn't have been affected by me riding the Manchester to Blackpool charity bike ride on Sunday 12th. I have always had a great time and I am sure that this year would've been no different. Seems a shame that Cougar numbers were so low, but obviously numbers are ever decreasing.
Hopefully it won't clash with any existing plans next year because it'd be nice to catch up with people again, I always enjoyed the weekenders!:)
