Cougarfest Dilemma!

How much is it for the fridge and grill?

if it helps i am willing to throw in an extra £5 , it would cost me that in gas to badly cook a few bangers/burgers over the weekend,

If everyone chipped in an extra fiver would we have enough - I for one would be more than happy to chuck another tenner in as this will be a fantastic weekend and I love congregating around the communal grill - won't be the same without :(

Same here Iain, but what chance have we got, realistically when we can't even muster a decent attendance

Well - lets put it to the test then Alan - who of the attendees would be prepared to chuck in an extra £5/10 to get full facilities????? Please make yourselves known - thet's show the non attendees that nobody is going to p**s on our parade!!!!

No problem here - I'd stump up extra for the posh facilities (y)

In for a penny! but lets see how we progress.:)

I'm sure we all would John, but the fact that this is even being brought up just shows the apathy imo. Tbh, i couldn't give a toss, i'll enjoy the weekend anyway, i know how to rough it, i was dragged up you know

On previous years didn't we have to pay a fee for our partners too? I see on the list some have paid £30+3.4% for two people, the same as those who are paying for one.
This years payment instructions didn't make this clear whether the £30+3.4% is per person or per car.
I interpreted it as being per person, the logic being the more people, the higher use of facilities.
Whether there is one car or 50, neilther car will use the facilities.
I therefore paid £60+3.4% for me and Mo.

I pm'd JJ about this Manos, as I'd paid £60 plus 3.4% for Rachel and I, he told me that we were paying that amount because we were taking 2 Cats. I've subsequently PM'ed him, so will say no more. ;)

Right - just to clarify before I set the moths free out of my wallet - it looks like I'm now going to be me + 4 :censored:!!!!!! which will be 2 adults and 3 kids in 1 cat with two tents (probably have to chuck a couple of kids on the train!!!).

So - on my reckoning - that will be 2 tents x 2 nights = £40 to Grendon and £60 to the club. Is this right??? :geek:

Also - does anyone know which is the nearest railway station and how far away it is???

That's going to be a bit expensive for Iain

I did openly query it - as above - but got no guidance - I have already paid £60 for two adults and will throw in another 3x £10 for the lads if that is deemed to be appropriate

Dates - 15th-17th July

Location - Grendon Lakes
http://www.grendonlakes.co.uk/

Costs - PER CAR/TENT (based on a 3-4 man tent iirc)

Grendon - £10 per night IF pre booked (also inform them you are camping with Cougar Club)

To the club £30 this covers the hire of fridge/marquee/gas/bbq grill and electric supply for the weekend.

Reading this from the other thread it does sound like the £30 payment is indeed per car and not per person, although not clear so could be read either way really.

I've just checked last years fest details and there was an additional smaller fee for each passenger - much clearer instructions too.
No doubt Jason will be reading this at some point so we'll see what he says.

Due to the additional petrol, we're only planning on taking one cat.

It is indeed per car, although not sure how much more of the fridge/marquee/gas/bbq grill and electric supply 2 people in two cars are going to use compared to 4 people in 1 car.

That was my original point Steve.
More people = more food+drink = higher demand for fridge, BBQ, marquee.

Last years thread even mentioned if there were sufficient numbers a larger marquee would be hired.

BTW I'm not complaining about paying £60+ because it's worth it.
I'm just highlighting that previous years payments all took passengers into account.
If this years payment system is simply 'per car' then it clearly isn't fair between those with passengers and those without.

If the numbers were the same as last year, less money will be raised to pay for the facilities.

Last year it was £30 per car with driver. With everything going up in cost last year was the first time there was any extras for passengers etc. The commitment required has always been a minimum of 30 cars to cover all costs including insurances as you can all appreciate people providing equipment to a bunch of people in a field could be somewhat risqué.

I know Jason has had very little time to himself in his new position at work so I'm sure he will be on when he can. I will ask him if there's anything I can manage on his behalf.

Kully, I'm pretty certain that every year* I've been to fest has included a fee to the club for each passenger.

*Since 2006.

EDIT: Just checked - 2010 per car + passenger fee, 2009 per car only, 2008 per car + passenger fee, no details prior tp 2008 on forum.
