Hi all..New to site... SO... After many years of wanting.I finally picked up my first Cougar on Friday. Whooooo Hoooooo........ 20 minutes later someone ran into the back of me and wrote it off.... Bugger... But what a great 20 minutes... wondering if ive got some sort of record for shortest ownership of a Cougar... lol.... So the hunt begins for another good un... look forward to posting some good news soon..

Cheers, one of those things. Most important thing is everyone was ok.... Just got to wait and see how much the insurance company offer me now before the hunt begins.. Not as much as it cost i bet..

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but glad you're alright.

Just how bad is the damage? Has it creased the boot floor?

Hi
Thats just rotten luck:(
Hope your ok.
Is the damage severe.
If its just the bumper and bootlid it can be easily repaired...plenty of parts available here.

Unfortunately most good cougars sell for more than there book value due to there age and the fact that they last and look good..
Any chance of some pictures of the damage.

Ya beet me too it chris:LOL:

Thats very bad luck, just glad no one was hurt, what was the spec, age, condition of the car before the bump and whats the damage now, insurance companys are only to happy to right off the cougar in an accident, think there in league with Ford in trying to wipe them from the face of the world !, hope you either get it fixed or another one.

Let's not forget that if he was rear-ended and was in no way at fault, the other driver's insurance company cannot write the car off unless it's Cat B or above. I would twitch a little at driving a Cat C, sure, but if it's Cat D, make them repair it.

Get the value, get the payout, and then fix it on your own dime however you want. I have a spare rear bumper for a start. Wil Leaper might be prepared to sell you one of his spare sets of rear lights. Tailgates are easily available.

We need more info about how bad this is.

Read these comments man. They know their beans, and if you can save the car, that'd be an amazing way to bond to your Coog!

Mikey on here had the rear of his car buggared by a motorcyclist and his is amongst the nicest Cougar's I've ever seen now.

Sorry to hear your ownership was short lived but no one was hurt and that's the main thing. I can promise you one thing, if he can be fixed you are in the right place for all the advise and help you need. Good luck and fingers crossed he isn't too badly hurt!

I think it's a gender thing.
Blokes see cars as feminine, girls as masculine. That's why mine has been christened 'Lorenzo' - ask the wife:giggle::cautious:

I had this debate once with a bloke who named his car Geoff. "You ride Geoff" was the winning line in the dispute.

Besides, the model of the car is a Cougar. Cougar. I very nearly named my car Patricia just for that.

T identifies Jinxy as female. This either means that T's quite masculine in some ways (there's a non-zero probability of this) or she's typical of people who have a nurturing relationship with an inanimate object and need it to be female, (more likely).

I don't want to get all Tumblr about this, but we do live in a largely male dominated society. The idea of the things that look after us being female is completely natural.

All that said, I need to see this car! I want to know whether we can help!
