Early cougar

There are a few 53 plate C2's out there. I think X reg is the earliest C2 as well.

Sorry guys, but intriguied here... a C2 has come up on a local selling site... a T reg, yeah i thought private plate but first registered in April 99... so would lead it to actually be a T reg? Is this one of the first C2s?

it fits but not very well....it leaves a gap under the headlights so you really need C2 lights and grille to do it properly

Does C2 bumper fit on the c1?! I have an idea!

Blurple c2

No Steve, other way round mate. C1 bumper onto a C2 with C2 lights leaves a gap.

edit:
C1 lights with C1 bumper on a C2 leaves an even bigger gap see post #305:  https://forums.ukcougar.club/thread...CN51-MSJ-S600GAR-(The-Conversion)-Cont/page31

Ia the grill different between the C1 and C2? It's important to know if obtaining a Mercury Cougar-badge grill from US.

Yes. The ends (the bits under the lights) are completely different.

You can fit a C1 grille with C2 lights, but you'll have some odd gaps at the ends.

Put C2 lights on a C1 and they stick out over the bumper...the C2 bumper is larger to meet this profile...C1 lights and bumper are smaller.

Simple answer is the C2 bumper needs the rest of the C2 front to fit properly.

ls that local to us Ricky?

I havent seen that monstrosity driving about

Sandwell mate... he wants 550 for it... little over priced for me with nearly 150k on... i want going to have a little 2ltr project

Edit:

But Thanks for the heads up guys, nearly brought a c2 bumper ;)

I do however still need to make the C2 lights fit properly

 gotta love monster decals seems really popular but i prefer it a little bit more discrete lmfao

I thought I was reading a Backseateducation post there for a minute. But then I remembered that he doesn't do subtle at all!

I wouldn't drive the lairy thing, but to be honest the only thing that bothers me is the Japspeed decals. It's like fitting a Type-R badge to a Focus.

Where are you struggling, mate? They fit just fine if you ream out the retaining lug holes in the wings, though as Steve rightly says, there will always be a slight overhang at the extreme edge of the bumper.

If you need any help, I'm happy to go and take a picture of mine (with the light removed) so you have a reference point to work from.

Deffo need to take more of the lip off, that's what I did and they fit fine now, try using a dremmel type tool, or even a grinder using a grinding disc, not a cutting disc, just do it bit by bit, check the fit of the light and when you are happy with the fit, job done..(y)
