Yeah! ...and that...as well... :skep:

And when you got home from school you had a bath in front of the fire, coco, jam sandwich and then of to bed.

Okidoki!
If "Global warming" is responsible for these "in comparison" very mild temperatures, What the hell caused the proper winters of years gone by, pre- auto engines, pre-internal combustion, pre-industrial revolution , shall i go on . We must have grown up in times of "Global BOILING" :incazzato:

Icermanz, what have you done?

Previous ice ages where most likely caused by the Earth's elliptical orbit.:sleep:

As for the proper winters of old they have been getting fewer and fewer in this country. But I'm old enough to remember some. Ice on the inside of my bedroom window cos we had no upstairs heating for one. My lad sits in his bedroom in a T-shirt. Most schools close because not enough teachers turn up not because the kids would get cold. I just wonder how many people would have stayed at home today if they didint get paid.

if u mean the winters of 200 years ago where the Thames would regularly freeze over people would have skating races on the fens etc. I'm pretty sure that was down to a volcano (but I could be wrong). It also meant that crops failed and the winters even in blighty lasted till early summer. But it did gave Turner amazing skies to paint :yesnod::yesnod:

Not much snow this morning in Clacton btw :nonod: and it was pretty much gone by 5pm when I headed home

I believe you are correct sir, Krakatau caused similar effect when it went POP! (The old red sky at night stuff)

I phoned the pub up in the end and they told me to stay at home, not because the snow is bad its because the roads are death traps its well slippery and no punters were gona venture out in the bad weather so why bother?

I'm not saying anything...other than "what the?" the amount of stupid calls we have had at the Met Office was unbelievable!!! Anyone would have thought that we had never seen snow before??? Stupid things like "should I drive up the road to my friends?", "Do you think my kids should go to school?", "What time do you think we ought to let our staff leave work today?"...For sh*ts sakes people!!! get a life!!! lol

Here's how I found my Coug when I got home tonight...
