Well the time has come, after all the work to get the new cat on the road, It's insured now and MOT tomorrow, after some small amount of welding, Hopefully it will pass ? if it passes it will be taxed and then i will hit the road for the first time in a manual car in nearly 20 years... o_O

Fingers crossed on both accounts.. (y)

Ade I'm sure it will sail through without any problems...... And as for driving...... It's like riding a motorbike you simply won't forget..... You might think you have but as soon as you get rolling get down the road it will all come flooding back mate (y)

Cheers Ian, I am hoping the driving thing is the case mate... :) I will soon let you know, and as for the MOT, it's in good hands with Si, if there was anything needed doing he will sort it hopefully.. (y)

Good luck tomorrow Add; I'm sure she'll sail through. (y)

As for the driving; there's nothing to worry about, I've driven my Mum's Mondy auto for the first time in ages this week and it was dead easy. :):):) ;););)

Saturday MOT! It's a pass Add. You've put quite a bit of work in there, you've seen probably 90% of the car so i'd say you'll be ok (y)

Thanks Al, just a couple of things i remembered today i wanted to do, one was sand off and grease up the power steering pipes and brake lines.. apart from that it's the small patch of welding only... everything else seems fine on the car.. (y)

Good luck with the MOT Ade - I'm sure you'll fly through after all the work you've put in mate (y)

Nice one Ade, good luck, as for driving a manual, i bet you pull up to the first set of lights and stall it hahaha ;-P hehe and yes i did!!!!

We shall see Tony, i will let you know, once the embarrassment has worn off..

I'd been driving autos for 20 years before I got the cat - never stalled at lights but - even to this day - I regularly try and set off from lights in 3rd :geek:

That's good to know, I am sure i will make some mistakes along the way, i do remember how to drive, but i sit in the drivers seat and my mind goes blank, the strange thing is even when driving an auto i still used to reach for the gear stick to change gear... and i used to push both feet to the floor when i came to a stop as if the clutch pedal was there... o_O
