Gavs ST220

Think im jus a tad happier than u tho Ian (y)

Honestly tho (hopefully not jynxin things(touch wood))
She is running sweet as a nut n i cant thank u enough for getting her bak up n running.
I honestly cant believe the power. Pulls like a train throughout the rev range after 3000rpm think needs another remap to sort the before 3000rpm area tho
Mayb at a future RR day as qoyld love to find out the power in her now

We can always adjust the mapping to help out there mate..... Just a few tweaks should improve that....
And I can honestly say it was a fantastic moment when I turned the key and she was back on all 6 cylinders....
Worth the wait in the end.... Just a shame it took a while to get there.

Its fine cuz the money i saved whilst it was away n i was n stil am driving a 45-55mpg car i managed to get loads of new biys n b able to afford brakes bein done sraight away

Seems a trip to u will be jusifyable to the missus then lol
Will a map be lost wen battery disconnected?

Isnt to much of a problem atm jus no it has more power in her to b had below 3k rpm

Ok so friday morning early daws coug was left at kwikfit to have the alty done
had to be left as i had to attend a driver awareness course to save getting 3 points....... oooooops
ironically i got caught in a van (71mph on dual carriageway, i wasnt aware limit was 60mph....)

Anyway i was promised she would be done by the end of the day, which soon changed after a few hours of sruggling to get the alty off...... oh and not only did the place that did my engine screw up the engine wiring, gasket, they also didnt even bolt the alty on properly as the mech who done it asked if i had tried to do myself as nuts where very loose.

So after them staying very late fri nyt i picked up the coug at 10am on the saturday.
finally.........drivin round in a car where i can enjoy drivin, not struggle with power and look good! :D

So She got a treat of a wash and wash new sidelights, headlights and full beam and clear/tinted indicator bulbs front and side to take to orange colour away whilst not on.

first long drive was very early hours this morning....42 miles 37 roundabouts and a 20 mile motorway stretch.
OMG wat fun i have been missing out on!!!!!
Once again a massive thanks to Ian for getting this car upto the glory its at atm!
acceleration is epic!!! although i was drivin a 1.4 megane sport so that may have helped lol

Cornering is amazing, holds like a train on tracks, the car is now back to full working order for now and is honestly a delight to drive i cant explain in words
only downside i have atm is a rear bearing is on way out and slightly noisey at 70mph, but its bearable....excuse the pun.
23.1mpg average over the journey, but by god for the fact i dont have to get stuck behind lorries anymore due to lack of faith in car overtaking is well worth it!

So looks like i will be at Castle combe in April and ford Fair in August :D :) (y)

With the age of these cars now they will more than likely need constant care Gav, or you can sell it drive a boring car and still have to maintain it mate... ;)

Finally....... You have driven the car that you wanted over a year ago...... Pleased its going ok for you and all the stupid mistakes made on the engine swap are finally behind you...... Don't forget...... You still owe me a blast on the road with her now she's all legal and sorted.

yeah i no but with the amount changed over last 1-2yrs n the very low 1600 odd miles covered wuithin that time im hoping it will end for a short while.....n so does my bank card, becoming very worn lol

N ive been drivin a megane 1.4 sport and omg i didnt ever enjoy a drive it it tbh, i mean my sole excitement out of it was the fact i was average 42mpg most of the time, even at "high speeds on private roads" i wud get 40mpg

But i prefer jeremy clarksons version FPG Fun per gallon!! n that i get loads of in the coug :D
