Day Two
Mark with my new Valeo (or LUK) clutch
...and a close-up (not of Mark)
My ST200 with the C2 chain cover fitted.
I'm retaining the C2 chain cover so I can keep my C2 alternator.
Nick fits the ST200 gearbox to the engine.
In the various collections of nuts and bolts lying around the workshop, Nick and Mark just seemd to know exactly which ones to pick up for each part they reassembled.
Metal impellor water pump fitted
Gearbox, PAS pump and alternator fitted - the engine is now ready to go on the hoist.
Spot the new shiney bit.
I spent all morning cleaning this. It had a 1mm covering of coke all over the ports and butterflies.
Before
After
Now for a plug for my old engine which I'll be selling. The LIM on my old C2 engine was still quite clean. Must have spent a lot of time with the secondaries open.
With Mark out picking up his daughter from a make-over before her school prom, Nick was left on his own.
The next few pics are of an expert at work.
Nick single handedly lowers and guides the engine into its new home.
Nick starts fixing the n/s mount.
And then the o/s mount.
Then he raises the car so the rest of the build can be completed, starting from the bottom and working upwards.
No more photos of today but the drive shafts and ST200 ECU have been fitted.
Tomorrow there will be lots of plumbing (cooling system, PAS, exhaust), wiring and also breathing to assemble.
Oh, and a few more shiney bits.
