Having a little bit of work done at Mafia HQ

Day Two

Mark with my new Valeo (or LUK) clutch

...and a close-up (not of Mark)

My ST200 with the C2 chain cover fitted.
I'm retaining the C2 chain cover so I can keep my C2 alternator.

IMGP3737Copy.jpg

Nick fits the ST200 gearbox to the engine.
In the various collections of nuts and bolts lying around the workshop, Nick and Mark just seemd to know exactly which ones to pick up for each part they reassembled.

Metal impellor water pump fitted

IMGP3744Copy.jpg

Gearbox, PAS pump and alternator fitted - the engine is now ready to go on the hoist.
Spot the new shiney bit. :)

I spent all morning cleaning this. It had a 1mm covering of coke all over the ports and butterflies.

Now for a plug for my old engine which I'll be selling. The LIM on my old C2 engine was still quite clean. Must have spent a lot of time with the secondaries open. :devilish:

With Mark out picking up his daughter from a make-over before her school prom, Nick was left on his own.
The next few pics are of an expert at work.
Nick single handedly lowers and guides the engine into its new home.

Nick starts fixing the n/s mount.

IMGP3754Copy.jpg

And then the o/s mount.

IMGP3756Copy.jpg

Then he raises the car so the rest of the build can be completed, starting from the bottom and working upwards.

No more photos of today but the drive shafts and ST200 ECU have been fitted.
Tomorrow there will be lots of plumbing (cooling system, PAS, exhaust), wiring and also breathing to assemble.
Oh, and a few more shiney bits. :)

Looking good Manos. Do you get the feeling your among experts at BMHQ? It's a good feeling to know that there are actually some top guys out there when it comes to SORTING! our cars.

Ooooooh..........................I'm getting all excited.................can't wait for the next installment Manos :D

Tomorrows shiney is gonna a be a show stopper:eek:(y). Although I'm not sure he'll notice much performance improvements as he has found out just how cheap takeaways are up here and also Mandies bakery. I think there may be a little excess ballast to transport back.:) Iain the bar has been raised on the tribute, front Manos arrived with a big bunch of flowers for Nick and myselves better halves, Several bottles of wine and a box of Stella.

Excuse me - and that compares exactly HOW to a full tank of fuel - in this day and age - EVERY time I borrow the fourby

I'll forgive you - as long as you assure me that Phoenix is going to be faster than Manos's - or does tomorrow's shiney include some blowing equipment :censored:

Looking good there Manos, the northern monkeys do have an occasional use. The reason your LIM is so clean is because you don't have an EGR, so no crap being thrown back into the engine from the exhaust.;)

There is a very special mod that has links with turbine generating equipment but I couldn't possibly tell anybody until it has been officially unvield.

I can certainly recommend a visit to Bolton.
Every kind of quisine is catered for by the numerous cheap local and tasty takeaways.
Mandies bakery is good for a loaded sarnie and some banter and poor impressions of a southern accent. I'll be going back there for lunch tomorrow.
And there's Mafia HQ.

The suspense is killing me - supercharger? - might just have to pay a flying visit tomorrow - if I get out of court early enough (y)

Still more of my handywork to come tho lol nuff said!!! ;-P hehehe
Indeed, so far it's been all about the good work of Nick and Mark but Tony has put a lot of hours of prep work on some of the parts and this should all be revealed tomorrow (a liitle bit was today).

And Mark has done a decent job today of prepping the 'turbine generating' related part today too! :devilish:

Got a couple of sentence cases at Minshull Street Crown Court tomorrow so very much in the hands of listings as to when/if I can get away.

LOL..............the suspense builds:), if it hints at what I think, you're gonna have one very quick cat Manos:cool:, great pics to accompany the thread btw.(y)
