Hello from new member

Looks just like mine when I first bought it, mine looks a lot different now. My first mod was getting rid of the fried eggs, or orange side repeaters.

I don't know about mods, I'm really struggling to make sense of so many details at the moment! My V5 says the engine is 2495cc, so I thought that got me out of the oil starvation problems. Reading the C1 and C2 differences post, my engine has a threaded oil filler cap and 4 bolts to the ignition pack, which would make it the 2544cc.
Completely confused now.

yours is a cougar 1 so it is a 2544cc only the cougar2 got the smaller engine as it shares some parts with the mondeo mkIII
get the dvla to change the engine capacity on your v5.

re "central locking" Normally a door switch fault Boot or Bonnet switch. Central locking involves the alarm system as well. If it not armed it is not secure. What does the garage mean by "re-programme". There is a self test built in to the vehicle try that first to locate the fault.

someone will be along later to answer that question chuck, i don't yet know how to do this either, you ask the right questions you do,

ACE.

Have been a Cougar owner for a week now and I see what everybody means about the "grin" thing.Have caught myself several times driving along and smiling for no reason whatsoever.
Finding my way around the car, locking is getting better with use
Joe concert was amazing, he didn't play Starry Night but always next time. Friend took us up in his WRX,an experience in itself!!
Now want some decent carpets (any thoughts on good ones appreciated)and an owners club sticker for the rear window.

Can't edit out the two caughts.

Hi Anna. I'm Nic and I became a Cougar owner and forum member about the same time as you. I have the same grinning problem that you mentioned in the thread, it just will not stay off my face for any length of time. My musical tastes have changed over the last 10-15 years and become much more Classical but my black Cat's definitely a rocker. I've had to dig out some of my old music, stuff I haven't played loud for a long time. Heck - I think even my hair colour is changing from "Frosty" to match my car. Have fun in yours. Nic

Hi Nic,
Hello to you too,the welcome and help from everybody here has been really nice.
Went for a drive yesterday and seemed to attract Audi racers for some reason!! CD player in the car is being well used. Also enjoy Classical music(play the piano)so Bach,Chopin and just got sheet music to Le Onde, Ludovico Einaudi. Agree the car needs loud stuff, mainly Boss, early Stones, Lou Reed etc.
Carpets to get next, seen some official Ford ones that look quite good.

Major panic today. Coolant warning light came on. Luckily able to stop safely fairly quickly and could see water leaking.
AA man found broken clip on hose, so jubilee put on, water topped up and so far so good.
Car still under warranty so going in for coolant and clip check.
