help!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161712173377?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITThe probe is ok to drive but DAAMMMmmmmm I missing me boy!!! bit of TLC and he will be good to go, I need to get a boot thingy :p (the bit that covers the spare wheel) as where my leak is and made it crappy! so yes fingers crossed this engine is ok, I have added a link to it..... looks like an engine to me :p

That...looks good, but please see my PM. Let's do it right, and do it once.

If it's local to you, I'd be inclined to see if you can hear it running if it's not already been removed.
Mind you that's probably what Chris said!

I have a feeling its not in the car as he did email me willing to delivery it today! but then did have a little brain fart and thought best to find a few things out before I bought it (which Chris has aided me in a pm :) )

Evening all, sorry I have been a little quiet..... been busy at work and a bit pfftt in all honesty!

So the deal is I have found engines BUT its hard finding out the history or the engine/car and I guess if we are going to do this we need to do it only once!

So seems Paul still has his engine in a car BUT the logistics of this are a bit of a nightmare, BUT knowing the history of the engine means its a runner and worth getting it if possible. It does mean getting it out of the car and back to me in Northants, I HATE asking but what's the chances the people with the hoist getting it from Paul and bringing here? of course will sort petrol etc out

Im not too sure where in the UK the chap with the hoist is? If he is able to go and get it? I am currently driving a car which is fine on short distance and im sure it would be ok longer but its in need of some new engine mounts (which I have just cant spare the car to get it fixed yet!) so don't want to push it too far on a long trip (Paul is about 1 hour 20mins from me)

so once again I seem to be asking for help :/ Chris did say ask and I guess the worst than can happen is people say no can do which I fully understand too.

Let me know what you think guys, if someone wants a drive out and can help me out I would be forever grateful :)

I'm in.

Like I said in PM, this will almost certainly have to take place over a couple of weekends, but it's do-able and we've done it before. Just need to get enough volunteers and sort out the logistics.

And all this assumes that Paul is happy to once again have a Cougar in bits on his drive!

I like to make things simple, the engine is out, Chris do you remember helping me remove it, its the one I put on the trolley, the warranty replaced one from the cougar with flood damage, bearing in mind the car it came out of had 86000 the engine has less on it, I remember it was a strong engine and was smooth idler pulley bearings had died though, depending on when I may be able to help, not sure if Tony is available with his trailer or if someone else has one

I should still be ok to help with this. I can't really help transport wise though, maybe we could rent a small van or something, or the back of the Pea:LOL:

That's the one I thought it was, but was confused by the mention that it needed removing since we most certainly did pull it from the car (with its black front rocker cover and refurb stickers).

That motor is cherry and should just need fluids and turning over by hand a couple of times before running.

It has atleast 12 litres of oil in keeping it nicely lubed (y)

Transport I can help with IF it's at a time I'm free. I'd need a definite date first and then I can work on the finer details afterwards. Could someone give me a quick run down of what's where and where it's going etc? Just so I know miles and time needed etc [emoji2][emoji106]🏽

Kully, Paul's engine is presumably at his (or his parent's) house, and spaceychick is near Corby.

So I'm guessing M42 - M6- A14 - A43. Looks to be something like 35-40 miles.

The Engine is indeed at my Parents, I will need to know when someone is looking to collect it as it is hidden away so the Polish scrap metal thieves don't take it (quite an issue in Redditch) Spacychick, I also need to know if you want the gearbox or if I need to remove it, I believe I gave you a price for with and without

sorry that was my mistake Mako, I assumed the engine was still in the car.

Procomm, Chris advised we don't need the gearbox.

I'm slightly limited with the car im using at the moment, its doing a grand job local but haven't been on a long run :/ not that I would be much help if I travelled to where the engine is. Would V6SIGNH be able to retrieve the engine by himself? or with Pauls help? More to the point does V6SIGNH want to get it by himself? god I hate being really helpless in these situations, feels crap!!!

If V6SIGNH can collect I guess its then down to when you and Paul are free to do the deed. Its a simple bank transfer to sort the payment out, just if and when you guys have that time. V6SIGNH, how much is all this out of your way?

Lol! None of it is on my way anywhere really lol but as above, IF it happens to be a time I can accommodate then I will do my best to help. I probably have the most practical car to shift it in out of the people here and reasonably located to both places. Weekends are a real premium as its when a lot of my business is most active. For me, everyday is a school day unfortunately. Right now, is our busiest period of the year and finding the afternoon that this really needs is gonna be the hardest part probably.
