Hi everybody

That looks very good. (y)

'crick' is 'jack' for us. :)

The Cougar that Jack built-)

buy the headers and worry about the fitting later, worst case senario is you have to buy a new catalytic converter and flexi (y) this is something i have had to do and really isnt a big issue

Thanks for the advice

well with some patience, i'd like to find the right exhaust manifolds...that fit 100% for my model

but without the 2 little cat...i think i have to modify or remove the egr valve
'cause in my model...a little tube starts from the little left cat and go to the egr valve

for the recirculation of exhaust gases

- - - Updated - - -

Or give it a bit of thought and buy the correct one in the first place...saves wasting money on a new cat and feeling foolish afterwards.

this is my idea-)

yeah i don't like foolish afterwars

I agree...search with calm ad find the correct one-)

even used...in good conditions

somebody knows something about the "voices" to the empty at low rpm
with sport manifods without the 2 little cat?

maybe it's only voices...maybe it's true

- - - Updated - - -

do they do a 2 bolt one now, when i bought my toyosport set they only did the 3 bolt type

well 2 bolt in one now...even more complicated

in fact, the Cougar has his years
so hard to find special parts such as exhaust manifolds
So you have the exhaust manifolds sports toyosport?

Well if you want I buy yours manifolds!! :)

- - - Updated - - -

Yes. So he can pick the correct one, not "worry about the fitting later"

well there's a lot of options...

but the correct one obvously it's the right choice (y)

now i understand how to post smilies..
first click on smile...then write the code...

i'm almost a genius like A.E.

Today came the 4 gas shock absorbers
and 4 sport springs

2 rear shocks are ok ...
one of the two front shock absorbers has a problem

now i can post the smilies...
but sometimes i have problems with the pics...
I click "from computer"...then "basic uploader"
I choose the file...and the file appears after 3-4 attempts
what is the exact procedure?

well i hope you can see the picture...
I do not know the exact name of the piece that broke off
I tried for a long time but I cannot find the name

the piece that broke off is this:

as you can see right into the shock absorber is glued
into the shock absorber on the left came off...is in my hand as you see
what is the name of this piece?

I can fix it? ... or is it better to send it back to the seller to ebay, and make me have another again?
above this piece is written: "Do not open"

If you can see right in to the shocker, then it must be empty of gas. So it must go back I'm afraid.

Thanks for the welcome :)

I do not know the name of which, if anyone can tell me what it's called
so I can write it in the mail provider

is, the piece that you see is detached alone, perhaps an error of construction
I think too... that I'll have to send him back

many thanks (y)

Lorenzo, using Photobucket is the best/easiest way to get your photos on to the forum:

Thanks! (y)

If you still have pressure in the gas strut then just re glue that dust cap back o, if the shock has lost its pressure send it back to the seller for a replacement (y)

I mean enough of the engine and other
but not enough to shock absorbers

I think it's better to hear a mechanical
if he can repair it, and like you said, if the shock still have pressure or not

Many thanks for your advice (y)

supplier told me so:

"Hello,
Thank you for your message
The item that has lifted up acts like a dust cover and should not cause any issues.
The plastic piece should clip back down.
If you wish I can arrange for a replacement
Please advise

Thank you"

I would say, it seems an answer by expert
well...I will try to mount the shock absober as he said

you think it's a good idea?

but...after a few days ... still do not know the name of this piece !! LOL

It's a Bumper...

As the supplier says in his reply it should push back down into place and 'click' to secure. If it doesn't 'click' a smear of silicone on the mating faces should hold it in place.

According to this diagram it is no.5, a 'bumper'.

http://eucatparts.com/?action=cat_ford_part&s_id_part=22704&s_id_model=90

Bumper...after many days of search now i know the name!...this is good..lol:

I tried it now .... I do not hear any "click" repositioning

putting it back in its place ... if you do not touch does not come off
I tried to push down the steel pipe with filet above
returns above to its place without problems, with a "Tic!"...when it returns completely over

I tried this with all 4 shocks...
same thing for all 4

so, the shock with the bumper off
seems not to have lost pressure

yeah the silicone on the mating faces
is good advice (y)

last question...
I can drive safe silicone along the bumper?
even at high speed?

Thanks! (y)

The metal rod returning to it's correct position means the shock absorber is operating properly.
Think of the bumper as a small shock absorber which protects the top of the gas tube from excess force.
When you have put it on the car the bumper will stay in position.
Try to gently pull up one of the other bumpers to see how they are fixed?

Yeah the metal rod back over his position with a "tick" when it is at the top
Also as mentioned, in the shock with the bumper defective

Ok, is an important part, prevents excessive forces

yes of course, I will fix the bumper in his position as recommended by you (y)

Well, there's no way for me to raise another bumper of another shock absorber
trying gently as you say, it does not move
seems to be fixed really strong
with the words "do not open"
Well as you can see ... if I take another one, I'd be in trouble 2 times

I think it's fixed pressure
because there is no trace in the shock absorber, of any adhesive substance

I now have the bumper in my hand, and in no trace of silicone, glue, or other products

you are right, I have to paste it with a product
the silicone is a product that has more strength glue?
or there are some other products with more strength glue?

I think it is the best solution, put a fair amount into the bumper of a substance with a lot of strength adhesive
because obviously, it must be stuck forever

i don't know what to do...
this adhesive, silicone or other...can fix the bumper forever?

I would not like while driving with the Cat
have problems of roadholding, or worse

Many thanks for your advise

Here is another response from the seller:

"Hello,
No the item is not the bump stop. The bump stop is a tought piece of rubber.
The item will not lose any oil pressure and the cap should fit back into place.
If you need any further assistance please contact us

Thank you
"

so the name it's not "bumper"...LOL
he call this famous piece "Cap"

well, i answer to him...don't know what...but i answer... (y)

Hi guys

Well before the seller advice to buy silicone "RTV 162 Q"

finally i've glued the piece in its place in the shock absorber
with silicone rtv

there is no way to pull it out
so i think it's fixed very good for a long time

well i tried to find the 3d "brake pads", or "pads"
can't find it

i post here my request, maybe the admins will move this post in the right section

i'm looking for sport brake pads for my Cat
that have more brake power

very good pads front and rear

some advice?

Thanks-) (y)

Hi Brothers

I return again from italy...
800 km...
And the Cat was perfect as always :devilish:

Today I've received the two rear discs
but they are not the famous "EBC rear turbo Groove"

they are black and not gold
As you can see in the picture

well the seller says to me that only the color it's different
Ebc change in black the discs
'cause in the states, they don't like the color gold

say that the material is the same

So the question is this ....

For you is correct mount, front discs of a type
and rear discs of a different type?

There will be no braking problems or balance braking?

I think Anthony might have mis-understood your question about different discs on the front and rear and is explaining the difference in size not about the different types you have which I don't think will give you any problems.

Ok thanks Quick-)

the problem don't exsist anymore Anthony, Quicksilver...

the seller asked me if I preferred to have 4 equal disks
well, i've answered:"For me it's OK"

of course, because in their store no longer have the rear discs "gold"

so, they sent me back these rear discs blacks "GD series"
without telling me that they doesn't send me the rear discs "gold"

I opened the package and saw the disks blacks...
so I said "oh my God ... these are blacks !!"...ahah
of course they did it on purpose without telling me

so I had to send back their discs front
fortunately, without pay shipping

the story continues ...LOL

they told me: "The front discs blacks will come to you soon !!"
but, in Italian we say: "I know my chickens !!"...ahah

Me: "I really hope soon ... thanks !!...is more than a month that aspect of mount.."
Them: "discs front "GD series" have been shipped today"...LOL  :devilish:

turbo groove discs "gold", will be replaced by EBC discs with blacks "GD series"

EBC:

"Please note that we are slowly migrating to black rotors, as it is a superior finish.

New Black GEOMET and NITROTHERM FINISH

EBC brakes now produces all of its GD series and USR discs with a new ,long lasting corrosion resistant finish. The coating is either the world famous GEOMET or for less popular smaller batch items we use the new NITROTHERM process of anti corrosive paint applied using this revolutionary process that coats with warm Nitrogen producing a better finish. During 2014 the former GOLD series GD discs will be phased out."

look good...but I know that these brake discs are not preferred here on our family
with the front discs blacks, I get the full set of Redstuff pads

after some advice of my Bro Anthony (y)
and all your advice

I think the Redstuff go well for me
brakes the Cat quickly, they consume a little bit in a hurry
but here in France, I do not have this problem...
because I cannot go as fast as I want...unfortunately...:Getlost:

...to be continued... (y)
