Hip's V6 Frosty Project

In all fairness Al, I just need your body kit and I'm about done - Where was it you live again? :D

Fitting the engine is a long way off. I'm gonna strip it for the goodies first (UIM, LIM etc) and refurb the block, skimmed, port&polished is it needs it. New everythings blah blah!

The LIM may not be worth fitting on a standard V6. When the UIM's off compare the port sizes of your current and ST LIMs. If you have a late design LIM the ports will be the same size as the ST LIM. And the green ST injectors are a waste of time without the ST200 ECU. This could save you a little unnecessary work.

Nice mods you've got planned there. (y)

I've got the engine engine, ECU, key, throttle cable, the whole lot.

I will be checking the LIM, but my car is a late '99 spec according to ETIS, so I'm assuming it's the older version.

Good idea

someone is trying to get their ^^^^ post count up!

Looking good hipster....it will be even better when you have finished by the sounds of it

Just check the fuel rail plastic cover mate look through the uim and if it's flat you have the smaller lim if it's rounded then you have the larger lim

Easy peasy

Don't forget to order the cougar st200 badge when your done to replace the v6 one ;-)

Ah, good shout sir.

I've stripped down the top end of the donor anyway! I've been taking pictures and measurements as I go, to show the difference in bore and design as well. Once I've done each section, I'll write it up.

Springs ordered, Brake Lines ordered. Springs wont be here till the end of March though according to Tweeks :O :'(.

Won't be doing the brakes will i've got everything i need in one place either, so roll on April!

Oh well, back to the engine :p

Been messing with Photoshop. I wanted a bodykit I'd seen on NECO, but it's proven impossible! Same as the Rousch :(

Debadged, support removed (Black Vinyl is my thoughts, unless anyone knows if it's just cosmetic?), bonnet scoop, smoked repeated, blacked headlamps, bonnet extenders.

I don't like the side strip so ignore that :p

Just trying to find a way of altering the front end without a kit!

The centre support is very functional and removing it would be silly ;-)

I did but I also put twin supports in mine to change it and lowered it two inches then put a wings west lip onto it.

Ah, damnit. There's a reason it's a good idea then!

I was thinking of making two ] shaped brackets that would go behind the grill to keep the distances the same. Or just paint it black :p

Cheers for the heads up!

Vinyl wrapped the centre with Satin Black. Looks **** up close if I'm honest, but the point was to allow me to see how it looked!

I've also covered the right hand side (as you look at it) headlamp internal clear triangle thing with the same stuff.

That makes a massive visual difference and, to be honest, you'd never really notice it was a cover up job if you weren't looking for it. Not sure about masking the lights out though, it leaves a very long portion of unused (pointless/redundant looking?) lens area behind the outer bulb.

I'm just trying different things, see what I like best. I might unwrap it and put some running lights behind the clear lens. It's only a bit of silicon and some Vinyl, so basically free! :)

Thanks for your input!
