The running lamps fit behind the triangular reflector on the wing end of the lamp unit and match the ones in the US rear-lamp units. They are plugged with a twist-fit grey bung on European C2 units.

So can you mod a C1 twist fit or has it got to be a C2 one to make it happen ?
Ah I see, I am just looking at the lamp unit now and I can see what you mean. A trip to the scrap yard is in order I think. The wing repeater bulb-holder and plug are a direct fit for the running light socket, Peter.

Peter, it is quite straightforward but I wouldn't mess around with a dremel until you need to tidy things up at the end. Be brave with a 4" angle grinder for the most part. I was fortunate in that the indicator socket mod had already been done so it was just a case of cutting and grinding until the lamp unit would fit in the correct position. Most of the obstruction is caused by the removable cover on the rear of the unit and it is possible to only remove enough to allow the lamp unit to fit without the cover. I went the whole hog and made them fit with the covers on. It's two layers of bodywork in the top of the lamp aperture that has to come out and so it's a case of cut a bit, grind a bit until the hole is big enough to allow the lamp unit to seat properly. As Si mentioned the top of the bumper can cause the units to 'catch' as you try to put them in but I found it is possible to flex that down enough to allow the lamp over the lip. The outer locating pegs that fit into the grommets in the front of the wing are easily unscrewed from the headlamp to allow you to seat the lamps properly before you have to think about having to deal with them not being a straight fit into the existing C1 holes. You could, of course, not bother with them at all as once the lamp units are located with the front, inner pegs and secured with their three screws they aren't going to move anyway.![]()
Does anyone have a close up pic of how their c2 lights fit to their c1's....i.e just see what sort of gap you are contending with v what i am?
