Just been to Mansfield... seat wiring conversion

If the grey plug is for the electric adjustments and the yellow is for the airbag the green must be for the heating?

I doubted that at the time, but only because of the guage of the wires - they're very thin and the current for heating must be high. And since the only wire that I've not connected is the thick blue one and my seat heating doesn't work...?

But either way, I'm going to have a look for the thread TopCat mentions, since we need to sort this out. Those flashing icons are maddening. :cautious:

On mine yellow was airbag, green was seat belt sensor and grey was motors and heaters.

So on the later ones with only two plugs on the loom the seat-belt sensor wires must be in the grey plug until they split off to the green plug and socket fastened to the seat base.

Yes I think that is right but you just swap the next bit of wire as well afaik

LOL Al - it was a voyage of discovery.

The best bit was remembering just how helpful people here have been over the years.

The mistake i made was searching for keywords like "wiring" "seats" "conversion" threads in my name lol, now if i had thought of "Mansfield" o_O...................
I'm going to edit the title now and add suitable tags (y)

I never think of using tags, but probably should do for exactly this reason.

As for how I found this thread in the end? I went by dates. I knew it was April 2012 and narrowed it down from there.

Did you get that sorted in the end? I'm having a similar problem. Is there a way to find out which of the red and black wires are for airbags and which is for seat belt sensor?
