Hello to all, been looking for sone new wheels since my van got low emissioned off the road. Was gonna go for an alfa for a while but bottled it cos of the reliability issues...came close to plumping for the economy option of a focus or astra when a friend remunded me of the cougar. Spent a week or rwo scouring and finally settled on a gorgeous 2.5 medina x plate...so glad i did, sexy leather interior and heavenly sounding v6...yep im luving it

Thanks for yr comments, pics up soon. All standard at the minute, may look at some alloys, replace the cassette player andti me the boots screaming for a little spoiler...but thats in the future, gotta find £400 for the brakes first...shocker!!!

Thanks mate, i was winded when told. My son in law is a ford mechanic and hes priced it up at that, discs and pads all round. He will get a discount on the parts but I'll still have to pay him to fit them so its gonna be up there somewhere. He fitted cheaper non ford brakes on his focus and has told me it was a mistake cos they crunch n grind like hell.....is there a cheaper option that you know of???

For £400 you could have the Brembo upgrade and change in your pocket! ;)

Sent from my thumb to your screen.....magic.

I was going to start a poll about what the best disc/pad setup is, (without modifying) but I think you lot have saved me the bother!

I had issues with Mintex discs on the old V6 - they warped quite badly within 4 months of fitting. Replaced with a never-heard-of-before brand from the local motor factors which I had no problems with.

Hmm

watching this with interest as my front discs also need replacing, had provisionally settled on the Mintexes but after this, not so sure...

do you think this was a one-off bad set? I have only ever heard good things previously about Mintex kit, how many people here are using them?

Welcome to the club - Eric I assume :) friendly bunch here, get some piccies up chap!
