New Wheels

looking good gg

I was looking at those for if I bought a black Cat, they suit the darker colour car well

on the subject of damaging wheels on potholes - if you can put up with a little chasing, take photos of pothole, take photos of damage, find out what local Council covers the area where the road with the pothole is, contact the Highways Dept, tell them of damage, they 'should' ask you to file a claim and will send you out a claim form, fill this in and send it back, with photos showing all the evidence. It is not a quick process to get your money, but you should get something - and something is better than nothing. You also do everyone else a favour too, as they will be out to repair said pothole and any others nearby. This process has worked twice for me now, at different Councils

Was reported on the herts council website, they have a map and you mark your pothole they then fill this in within 7 days and notify you that its been done. There was a big thing in the paper about claims and as long as the council could show they were using reasonable efforts then no claims would be entertained as it is basically classed as an act of god.

My mate just down the road is suing the council due to a very large pothole. He hit it on his mountain bike - it was that big that the front wheel dug in and chucked my mate over the handlebars. He ended up on the floor in a mess and when he came around (was unconscious for a few seconds or so) he looked down at his left arm to see bones shattered and sticking up out of his arm. He had to have emergency operation and now has a plate and several pins holding his arm and wrist together. So, if you scuff or bend an alloy...well...it's easily fixed...whereas if its limbs etc....not so easily fixed. The councils around the country should get their bottoms into gear and get these holes filled in, after all they are quick enough to take our "road tax" from us!!!!!

Oh....btw....ggsumo - wheels are looking great mate - nice one bud.

cheers boys - Sorry about your mate Wild. As you say mine was only a chunk of metal at the end of the day and the missus and kids werent hurt so for that i am really thankfull.

the rim protector tyres are a good idea but ihave my old ones fitted to the new wheels - will keep it in mind when I replace them
