Well tango took her last trip under her own power picking princess up from school, next trip she takes will be on a scrap van :(

I've never kept a car for so long almost five years and if it wasn't for some of the fantastic friends I have made on here I doubt she would have been kept for half that time, she has had a replacement engine and gearbox with new clutch down at Tony's the year before that at my Bro's new eibach suspension front and rear shocks and springs along with a updated rear ARB (21mm). The year before that a replacement rear quarter panel and lots of paint work.

I guess this is a bit of a thank you to all you guys who helped keep her going this long.

Last straw was coolant leaking into cabin/steaming up windows and exhaust fumes coming into car, also needs front discs and pads various paint work sorting out, full service and front suspension has issues likely top mounts and ARB.

Gutted to see her go tbh but head has to take over at some point and I don't have a job anymore to get her sorted.

As for a replacement for now will be driving debs punto around.

Well that does not sound good at all. I would have taken all the good bits off it before it goes off to the land of the crusher.

I will be taking off what I can but depends whether any local company's can fetch the car without wheels and suspension otherwise the scrap man will end up with 2 year old eibach set up and the rear ARB.

jj its been a weird nov dec 2011 and this part of the year! i know how you feel without goin into details, i would save it, its an amazing car its original, i would help im sure some of us would come help u fix it, i got a breakers yard here in poole i can always keep in touch for bits and pm u on the costs , i did the whole interior out on mine for £50, they seem to be, fair trents are on line too so you can check it out.

dont be hasty man!
i think with a bit of support from us guys (but im speaking for meself first)
ill help im not mega but ill help

It's a nice offer guys but even with all the mechanical and leaky stuff sorted there is still lots of paint work to sort I genuinely appreciate the offers of help but she really has driven her last now and I don't want to keep patching her up anymore, she's past the point of being worth repairing now.

I'd break her mate as someone will usually come and collect the shell for nowt (mainly cos I'd like the suspension) but you will make a few quid too

To be fair if I found someone to collect it without suspension I'd probably keep that in the garage as its impossible to get matched shocks and springs from eibach now I believe.

Well one good thing, if and when you decide to buy another car, they are plenty of really nice Cats around for very little money if you want to go back into owning another one that is.

I'll be staying around dude don't worry I kind of have too really ;)

JJ

Happy to hear your staying JJ! If your buying another cat, i would recommend keeping the exterior and mechanical bits n bob's, if not, i would be interested in buying your front grill jj. try to sell some of your exterior parts too dude, im sure you will make great sales!

I sound like a vulture with a credit card lol!

thats a real shame JJ after all the work you put in at Tony's - all that Gunking!!!

I think I know how you feel though because you weren't happy with the bodywork back then as knew how good she used to be.

Its a real shame Jas but i bet you'll be back in a cat when the job situation improves

Yeah worst part is paintwork bro and I did is fine it's the original Bodyshop failing to prep properly round smoothed door handles etc that are rusting and bubbling boot lid did the same real shame will genuinely be sad to see it go even if it was a rough ride still the quickest zetec and best handling I've been in.

Even Mark (charliecd001) said he hasn't been in a quicker zetec.
