Anyone have tinted rear lights? I'm thinking of doing something with mine as I don't like the orange indicators, or any other ideas?..

I did this light smoke. I used about three coats iirc:

I dont want them too dark and even thought aboutt red smoked spray but probs do something similar to alan but maybe a coat or two more :)

Not sure but i think i've still got a can of the savage tint spray yours foc if i have, and if you go that route of course.
I'll take you up on that, and offer you a pint in exchange lol. Pm me on a day and time your free, busy this weekend as its bday messiness but around in the week

Nope. They allow the light to pass just fine, plus the entire car is pretty much a reflector. :)

Even passed MOT, but only just. ;)

Never done them successfully. They always pickle. I'm guessing you get more polish on them. For what it costs from eBay for a pair of replacements it's definitely the easier option to just buy some.

What do you mean by pickle, take it you laquer them once you've tinted them?...

I think he means that the paint doesn't stick correctly to them, giving raised bumps (like on a pickle).

This usually happens if a silicone-based polish has been used on the car - it's almost impossible to remove it. And I agree with Ace that for what tinted repeaters cost, you're on a hiding to nothing doing it yourself.
