Ah okay that clarifies...though I have the Duratec in mine. I believe only 3500 cars of this model were sold in the European market?You have a C1. The Cougar was 'refreshed' in Sept 2000 creating the C2.

Both Europe and the US had a greater choice of colours than we did here in the UK.
Thank you! She is definitely a delight to see and drive...hopefully I can keep her in this condition even though she's parked outside. It's fascinating to read about the history and development that a particular model has gone through and now I'm invested in getting to know more about these cars...Just to add to Quiksilver's comprehensive post, there were some cars in the UK that you might unofficially call a "Cougar 1.5"
Mostly C1 specification including the headlights, but had things like the later engine, EGR delete, larger LIM ports... Basically it was as though Ford were setting up for the ST200 but never quite got there. My "Sally" is one of those.
Of course, I don't know what Ford Europe had planned but, either way, you have a pretty kitty there in a lovely colour and very, very tidy.
