Is your fuse panel under the airbag?

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
yes fuse panel is below the airbag, the little module you can see with the big orange sticker and the yellow bottom is the Airbag ECU, the bracket is riveted into place so should be moveable, the airbag brackets I think attach from the back of the bar by spot weld but you will know better than me looking at your bar

just had a look at postage costs, to send just the wiring loom to America will cost roughly £50 including tracking (y)

So basically, youre saying Im spending more on the mod then my cars worth yet again lol. I think if I got it pieces at a time instead of all at once so funds can rebuild as I go then it would be doable

Just reread that and realize thats cost and shipping. First time I thought that was jusy shipping lol. Thats not horrible bad then

I am surprised it worked out that cheap to be honest, I think you need to make a list of all the bits you need and tally up what it will cost you to get them separately and compare that to the cost of importing a donor car, I don't think there will be much in it to be honest

you see now that depends on who you know  your ex military like myself, I still have friends in the RAF, the Army and the Navy, if you know any guys or Gals in the American Airforce still serving you might be able to get them to import you a car from a US airforce base in the UK (y)

So right off differences.
Steering rack.
Dashbar
Dash
Heater box
Wire harness
Controls on the dash
Dash plastics
Center console.
Glove box
Doo ma hickey for operating the brakes
Front door cards.
Kick panel plastics

Our door looms will also be different...although seeing your work it might not be an issue!

We have the two switches on the right side. ..and the mirror controller...and we don't have the deadlocking switch you have on your cars...actually this means you'd need the UK door card plastics too.

Silly stuff like the boot pop will be on the wrong side, but not the bonnet pull as ours are also on the left

True. Whats the deadlocking switch? Is that the one that locks the key in the ignition? If so 99 manual cars didn't have that on all of them.

As for the door cards I could just have the passenger run the controls. It would cut down even further on distracted driving lol. I actually hadnt thought about those. List getting updated.

you need a steering column aswell [emoji106]
Unless its impossible to bolt mine in and hook up the wiring I'll be good. Not going into it further then this but. Megasquirt cut the pats key system out of my car. All that stuff requiring a transponder key is done. Think 1980s if the lock cylinder wasnt there I could start my key with a screwdriver. That being said, Oh Boy do I have a plan with that lol. Although I do have to find an alarm to disable the car so it cant be stolen as easy.

Also not totally sure but my door looms have a connector in the door frame. Im gonna give it a go and see if I can swap sides with them

No sorry I mean the switch you have on your cars under the window switches to lock the doors...we don't have that on our cars.

Sorry I think our wires may be crossed.

On both doors there's the main lever to open the door....and a smaller one just underneath that pushes in to lock the doors, not sure if your cars are the same?

Our cars don't have the electric switch that unlocks them just the two window switches and the mirror control.

Ours...(ignore the boot release I moved it!)

You cant see it but yeah we have a smaller lever kinda resembling the door handle with a little circle in th middle of it to lock the doors. As much a fan I am of buttons its kinda sexy without the third button.
The button on ours unlocks both doors as our keyless entry only unlocks the driver door unless you click the button a second time. Just more US laziness lol.

I like the boot switch there.

Well aside from the steering rack I have spares of all the rest you would need, I wonder how much shipping and duties would cost [emoji38]
So when you say spares. Do you mean parts sitting on a shelf somewhere? Or like a parts car sitting somewhere so we could compare pics as the stuff comes out? Now that I'm coming up on a descent income and not getting shipped to other countries we may have to talk more lol.
