Research quest

I think you need to make a list of all the bits you need and tally up what it will cost you to get them separately and compare that to the cost of importing a donor car
After looking into donor cars from the UK you may be on to something. Since I'm just looking into the parts to swap the steering wheel and interior the rest of the car wouldn't matter. Say like a car that wont pass MOT. There's some really cheap cars on there right now. If it were possible to get a car, how hard do you think it would be to work a deal with someone from the forum to take care of things on that end? Like picking the car up and making sure it gets off to the shippers for me.

When you guys change the filter under the plastic below the windsheild wipers, which side of the car is the filter on, driver or passenger?

Passenger (left, to save any confusion). I imagine yours is on the other side, since your wipers will sweep from the other side...

Is that left standing in front of the car? Or left sitting inside? [emoji1]
ok so that part is different. I didn't know your wipers go the other direction though. My discoveries lately.
The firewall panel as we call it here,
Has a seam on the floor pan right at the front of the floor pan. It then comes up to about where the heater box sticks through the fire wall. It's spot welded all the way around and then seam sealed. Which means that if we drill out the spotwelds the firewall just falls out. It is actually one of the last layers they put in which means its one of the first to come out while unengineering a car body.
The piece Im unsure of now is that top part where the fresh air intake duct from the heater box goes through. It spot welds to the top of the lower firewall but Im not sure how far up the Apillars it goes.
With a drill Im thinking we might be able to pull those sheet metal pieces out and still leave the car as a movable chasis, granted it's going to be a fairly weak one.
Drilling the spot welds would mean its a weld on reusable part I can just weld in.

Hey guys and Im guessing girls as well. I want to start by saying thanks for helping in researching my options on this.
Secondly, I've mentioned a little of my plan to Steve. And have spoken somewhat extensively with Chris on this. Im not going into serious details as of yet, simply because it may be 2019 before this happens, but this is happening. I'm hoping it happens to Jane, as thats the car I'm picturing this with but if something happens to her, and lets face it, it could. IF Jane can't make the surgery, Luci is. Ive been considering this for quite some time and I think its time to start making it a reality.
Chris knows exactly what I have in mind and what all I'm going to need when the time comes. I'll be letting everyone else know when that time is here. The rough outline of the plan is made, The most important party (the Missus) is on board with the endeavor, and its going to be a super Madd time. Financing is the ONLY hold up now.
