Running a Cougar as a third car (in a house of two)

Hi Quicksilver,

Thanks for the links. I've had a look around and before I order these would you know if there's any I could order in form say, ECP or GSF? The reason I ask is my pal called ECP yesterday and said they could order them in including for rear ARB bushes for circa £100 although I've logged on and checked and can't see them at all (I'm also aware of ECPs rep for claiming compatibility ).

If the ones in the link are the ones to get then no problem I'll place the order, but the difference in costs makes the question at least worth asking.

TIA

How-To for adding the OTD function to the passenger window is here:

Thanks for that, missed your reply when posting mine. Jolly useful

I too checked on ECP and drew a blank before I posted the eBay links.
GSF don't appear to list them either.

If ECP are suggesting they can supply two wishbones and ARB bushes for £100 my initial thought would be they are quoting for 'normal' Mondeo(about £40 each) wishbones rather than the Mondeo ST200/Cougar specific ones.

It's advisable to use new nuts and bolts when replacing the wishbones.

OEM parts nos. and specs are in the FINIS list here:

Again, thanks for the replies. It really is greatly appreciated.

Quicksilver, you echo my thoughts. I had my concerns as I know from reading on here over the years it needed ST200 parts and that ECP were simply too cheap. I'll get those Polish ones ordered later.

Mart, great link. I'll check it once I'm back in possession of the car.

I was going to suggest doing the same as Mart already did. If you look at the diagrams in the OTP link posted the bottom pic shows exactly whats going on. the yellow wire with the red dots cut is exactly whats going in without the relay. You basically have 2 wires not connected..

I would actually be suprised if it doesnt start working by jumping those wires. Do you know if the shop that worked on it tested anything?

Other than a new motor was needed, no. I'm fairly certain they weren't interested in working on in all honesty. The fact my pal whipped the blower motor out and had in stripped in ten minutes which is more than they managed, suggests they just think it wasn't worth their time and effort sourcing parts.

It is annoying that the relay clearly went missing when they were looking into the fault. Now I don't know if it was relay or motor, but thanks to advice above at least I can have a go at ruling the motor out and I know I need the real regardless.

Well tickets are booked so a couple of pals and I are off to collect on Saturday. So once the V5 / VED gets sorted it'll be on the way back up north.

Can't wait! After all of these years I'm FINALLY getting my mits on it :)

Finally getting the car up north! Party of 3 collecting it and swapping over at various services. Car running sweet, perhaps a bit 'loose' in places but nothing untoward for 17yrs and 96k miles.

Already drawing up the fettling list ahead of Monte Carlo. [emoji16]
