Saving Cougars

From someone who claims that the Club offers him nothing....yet another shameless plug for his catering business.
Not really, just explaining my situation with the car and my life right now. My catering services would not really be any help to 99% of members to this club given my location. And yes I still stand by what I have been saying for a good while now. This club can not offer me any value in paying my subs............. old ground again and something I do not want to bring back up as I have all the answers explained to me in the past. I am happy with everything this club has to offer to non-paying members. It is all good.(y)

mmmm carvery:p

ive never seen your car in the flesh and would love to...missed it at combe two years ago ,got there late(n)

it would be a shame if you couldn't get it to the show as im sure it would be a real head turner.

I will try to come to the hall next year on the Friday or Saturday evening if I have nothing booked.

odds on #001 was surrendered for destructive testing..........

I think that highly unlikely mate, the hole reason for platform sharing reduces development time as designers can concentrate on the styling of a new model without having to worry about how it will handle or how it will perform in crash testing. I would suspect that the crash tested models would have been the Mk2 mondeo for the uk and Europe tests and the Contour in America

Only thing that's vaguely similar is the floorpan Paul, so yes they would have had to retest it

According to Parkers the Cougar wasn't put through a Euro NCAP test:

Interesting, so the rules for crash testing had not tightened up then when the car was released. I wonder if the C2 had more testing then seen as it came along 3-4 years after the C1.

Just looked at the information and it was a 2002 car that was crash tested so that answered my own question. Should have click on the links before replying.

'My daughter has a 2002 Mercury Cougar and is risking her life as well as others lives every time she gets inside that car.'

Way to slate your daughters driving skills
