Scrapyard Cougar

Well despite my earlier text to Chris I have managed to get online this evening, so here goes...

tattt - Ive managed to get you a fag lighter but not the stereo wiring sadly I couldn't get my cutters round it. If you don't get sorted I can have another go next time I go if the car's stil there.

Al - foglight connectors and as much wiring as I could get (only 5-6 in)

Chris/Paul - Cam sensor

grimisuk - someone had pillaged the relays so drew a blank there:(, I might be going back there reasonably soon though so I'll see if any more in.

Mick - no door plugs sorry (only one door left anyway:LOL:)

Guys if you want to PM me where you want them sending to I'll post them this week.

Car is an absolute shed, very mouldy on inside but leather would actually clean up OK. I think it must have been a 'problem' car because the boot contains an inlet manifold and several big thingies which might be ABS or traction control modules/pumps?
Also has a recent Witter towbar which I'm hopefully going to liberate for mine.

hey Mat :) I only have a small shopping list:

1) ENGINE :D
2) the mat thingy that is in the boot
3) Driver door mechanic thingy (I have to manually unlock the door)
4) ummmmmmm mainly just a blummin ENGINE :D

5) new handbag!? hahah no im not that girly!!!

Did you manage to get a Brake Wear Connector with wiring ?? Thanks for trying to get the relay btw.

No I didn't mate - I didn't fancy jacking the car up on the ground it was on. I may be going back resonably soon and I'll need them to lift it in order to get the towbar off so I can have another go if you don't get sorted.

Ive got a door locking thingy ,you can have it when we sort out the engine.

Cool Shirtyzeus thanks, pm me details before we get going so I make sure I have the cash here for you :)

Also could do with some newish non foggy head light units too. Im on my 2nd lot although whats in him at the moment were 2nd hand as they are quite pricey new.

I think that this is something we can deal with, given some work. There's no such thing as new ones now - not at a price that you or I would want to pay.

Stick with what you have - we can help you restore them. No need to go nuts on something like this.

Last time I looked they were about £500 a corner :/

What?! Not even if you bought them from Ford! Good lord. Fogs are like £20 a side if you really need them. Or just buy crap ones and restore them.

lol Mako, all these jobs, you guys planning on moving in for a week :p

Heh.

I will do whatever is needed to get a good Coug back on the road. Yours is good and deserves every bit of help it needs.

Won't be moving in though. I have kitties that don't like me being away.

it was a good few yeas ago I looked so just got 2nd hand ones. I did pay a bit extra for brighter head light bulbs a few weeks before then engine went, definitely better but the glass is a little foggy still.

Awww cant leave the puddy cats alone, just don't tell my daughter you guys have kittens, she is desperate to have 2!!

Just realised that I've been conversational (about cats) in Matt's practical thread, which doesn't help anyone. I shouldn't have done that.

He probably won't mind, but...rules.

As for the fogs, you should be able to get them for a few quid now. But yours can be restored with no problem. You don't need to buy new if you don't want to.

Slight cross purposes I think?

Stacy wants to replace her 'foggy' headlamps not the actual fog lamps. :)

Not so much "crossed purposes" as "Chris didn't read the post correctly". Sorry about that.

Same advice still stands though, Stacy. They are restorable (though you need to keep on top of them forever more) and new ones are either not available or stupidly expensive if you can find imports from Germany. US imports are - as I understand it - not legal because they don't have the Kitemark.
