Shagmonkey's Cougar

Hmm no, the S-Type, XJ and XF using the AJ-V6 had them mounted longitudinally, but you can see from the X-Type photos above that it's mounted transverse in that.

I've got some PDFs you may be interested in a look at... Do you have an email address that can accept a few Mb at a time? There are 3 files I can send you which will answer a few questions you may have or may not have thought of yet.

Power wise it's 231bhp with a flatter torque curve. The AWD X-Type weighs a couple of hundred kilos more than the Cougar and does 0-60 in 6.6 secs, so it is a tangeable difference.

I wasn't saying it was good ;) I was just using it as a comparison, I would have the TTS or TT-Rs myself anyday of the week over the Rs...but thats me though  and what do I know ;)

i used to work for Audi, and had a TT-RS for a short while! was immense and stupidly fast!!! i remember having a go at a GSXR600 without sport mode and i was catching up on the straight :| only downside was that i had the manual :(

not my prefered choice tbh... for that sort of money i would much rather go for the Nissan GTR!

There are several words I have in my vocabulary that IMO opinion accurately cover descriptions of the "artist" formerly known as CJSnet. It is a very unfortunate circumstance though as divulging said words would indeed see me banned from this site for inciting a personal hatred vendetta.

Suffice to say, I didn't think too highly of the fellow and am quite elated that he is no longer part of this club.

Thx (y)
Here is a picture of him and his pride and joy just to cheer you up :bomb:

If i ever had a shed load of money to put into a car it would be a Supra, engine and gearbox's especially the 6 speed are pretty bullet proof and even a few basic mods takes it to near 400bhp.

Think Jason posted the price of £700 earlier for the S bodykit.

Page 7 of this thread has loads of pictures of the S kit.

what do you like about the supra? the looks or power? or both?

I love the 2ZJ-GTE engines! check out the aristo if you like the supra! lexus GS300 body but Supra RZ TT running gear! i rate the 2ZJ over the RB26TT Nissan engine!

fuel pump and induction takes it to 420bhp - Jap cars have my heart

I don't know about one in Germany but this is last currently made by the first company who did the kit, I have seen his work first hand as I did a GB on S spoilers last year and it's well produced stuff. I can also still get the S spoilers possibly.

I am sure he would take a non refundable deposit to secure the kit for you as it is already made and being stored.

Can you obtain a list of what is supplied J and where it is being shipped from (to get an idea of shipping costs)

By the sounds of it, you will need very deep pockets to get this kit fitted correctly and looking good. You will be in for a few grand at least as your car will almost need a full respray at the same time.

And if you want the wheels fill the arches instead of being buried under the car, you'll need wheels with a lower offset or spacers and the original rear wheel arches cutting and rolling.
You'll probably need to ditch the front wheelarch liners too which in turn will require some extra rust protection for what's revealed underneath and more dirt in the engine bay. Alternator will also be a bit exposed to the elements.

Front arch liners stay the same, just a few extra clips needed. Rear arches are best rolled by a professional. It'll increase the structural integrity of the panel if done correctly and give the extra weight of the bodykit a firmer foundation.

There's oodles of advice available. Depends who ends up with the kit. I'd love to have a go at fitting one of the S kits provided the rear arches were rolled in a body shop. Something satisfying about a large project like that. I once did a 12 piece RS/Cosworth mic and match kit on an XR3i convertible, 92 spec. Looked stunning when we finished it and sprayed it up. The S kit is quite straight forward to install, just a lot of labour in alignment, trimming and filling.

I was thinking of the recent problems Uncle Al had with his 18" 35ET offset wheels (with lowered suspension). He had to trim the bulges in the front liners due to the tyres rubbing. For the wheels to look right with the S kit an even lower offset will be needed.

EDIT: Shagmonkey's didn't have front arch liners fitted. Looking back at the pics CJ's did have liners but his wasn't lowered.

Remember Manos, i had those 35mm offsets machined to 40mm so no more scuffing etc, but you are right, i had to chop out the airduct bulge in the arch liner, passenger side, but even that was done with the 17's 35et i had prior to my current 18's.

True but rubbing etc on the liners isn't limited to changing the wheels. Simpling lowering can cause standards to rub. Front arch liners can be retained for the majority of it as the replacing wings are modelled from OE ones so the liners fall slightly short to the arch. That can be overcome in different ways so not a real issue.

What I'm saying is, if you want the wheels to sit more flush with the arch extensions you need a lower offset or spaces.
With the wheels sitting more outboard, when they steer they will follow a longer arc and therefore sit further forward/aft at full lock and risk touching the liners.
