hi viv. i know iv never met you or got to talk to you much, but i will pray that you make a full recovery. now i know this might sound weird but fresh turmeric powder is a root extract which is used as a natural anti biotic and anti inflammatory. i has also been proven to help tumours subside. i have been on turmeric for 1 year now, and i must say that its helped my immune system and inflammatory pains. there are many other unknown facts which scientists are still researching.

please please please read this viv http://cancerhelp.cancerresearchuk....r-questions/can-turmeric-prevent-bowel-cancer

warm regards

Thank you so much to all of you have have posted some wonderful words. I don't mind admitting thast some of them brought tears to my eyes.
Yes, I will come through and putting up with the aches and pains in the meantime is worth it.

Bless you all.

I read your post last night but have struggled to write anything, our thoughts are with you, if anybody can beat it, you can, you have a strong will and a very positive outlook, it's very brave of you to start a thread too. Although we don't see you very often, we always get a warm and friendly welcome when we do. When you get past this we'll have to get together at a meet somewhere and catch up,

take care,

Richard & Maria

Really sad to read this last night but as Rich said i didn't know what to say. We've never met Viv but i wish you all the best and a very speedy recovery.

Viv,

I don't know you all that well other than what you've posted in this forum. But I recognise a good person when I read them and it infuriates me that bad things happen to good people.

But either way, as a fellow human being, I wish you absolutely the best.

Chris.

Hello Viv,We've never meet but I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May this year and yes when the the big "C" word hit's you it's like a ...big thing hitting you!! and i thought omg this is it ,I had the mri and ct scan's and the doctor said the only way to treat this was to operate and remove the part of the bowel with the tumor ,which I have now had done 6 week's ago .I'm now on the road to recovery, I will need to have regular ct scan's and other test's for the next 2 year's to make sure nothing come's back so finger's crossed , I don't know what kind you have but it sound's like your treatment is having some good effect on you so be strong, it's hard I know but sometime's it's not all negative. best wishes and good luck Des x

Des, thank you for your post. When you come to find out it is surprising how many of us have been affected by cancer some way, if we have not had it ourselves we know someone who has. Mine is Non Hogkins lymphoma which is a cancer of the lymphatic system , I have it in the abdomen.

I am so pleased to see that you seem to be on the right track with your recovery. We have been on the same route when they were working out how to treat you - it is a scary time weaitng for to hear what they have to say. One automatically thinks the worse but this may not happen.

Very good luck and a Big Hug,

Viv xx

Hi Viv, Yeh your right when you first hear those word's you really do think it's all over ,when they said i had to have part of my bowel taken away i was terrorfied ,but it's a slow process getting back to normal could be month before I get back to work but i'll get there ,so if you need a chat just shout ,I also got a lot of help from the Macmillian cancer support there's load's of like minded people on there site who have or are going through it and are very helpfull so don't feel you have to cope on your own . Take cake Des x

Viv,

So saddened to read what you are going through but you seem to be taking a very positive attitude which you need to battle this through, very brave to let us all know as which is a sure sign you are fighting this head on. All the best with your treatment and for the future ahead.

Here's an update guys.

Just letting you know that the chemotherapy is going really well and I am getting good results. :) Some of the lymph nodes are already reducing in size which means less discomfort and pain. I have had three sessions now and the fourth one is next week. After that I have the CAT scan to see how many more I need.

I feel SO much better in myself, got my apetite back and have put on a stone in weight since coming out of hospital, I needed to, I was skin and bone!! I now have the apetite of a hungry horse!!! lol I have a lot more energy again and starting to enjoy doing extra work and getting out and about.

So all well and good so far. Will keep you posted.

Watch out Andy, I will be well enough to drive up and see you both again soon!!! lol

Hugs to you and Karen. xx

You're welcome anytime Viv although I'm flat out at work at the moment I'm sure Karen would put the kettle on and could lay on a few 'samples' from the bakery.
