The 27th September 2004 a date that will always stick in my mind because its the day I took posession of my cougar and here we are seven years later and still together, a mighty achievement when you concider the fact I have only ever owned a car for about four years prior to this one.
Just filled up with some fuel save (should have been V-power I guess for this occasion) and gave it a good clean the other day as you can see in the pictures. Just over 75k on the clock (52k i've done) and still going fine.

Who knows how many more years we will have together.....

You've done well to last 7 years, longest I ever lasted was about 4 years, normal average is probably 1-2 years, then I feel the need to change.

You may as well run it for as long as possible until it becomes uneconomical to continue - it probably owes you nothing after 7 years.

Goin good mate, looks brand new! Longest i ever had a car was 6 months and that was a cougar, had bout 15 cars in total in 3 years!

Five years i've had my cat now, it's just pipped the Sierra i had for about four and a half years. Seven is doing well Matt, anyway, you can't sell your cat, it's a C2 isn't it?

Had my current Cougar for just over 3 years now, which by my rough reckoning is the joint longest I've owned a car for, unless you count the Fiesta which we've had for approaching 4 but strictly speaking that's Joanne's.

It'll be 7 for me too in July. Unfortunately it might not get that far unless I can trade the van for an MPV. My problem is the van is a good solid workhorse and the car is a money pit :(

We'll see what happens at MOT time in December but I am exploring my options!

Who knows what'll happen but one thing is for sure and that is that somehow the Cougar has stuck with me for this long! Previously the longest I had a car was 16 months and that was a Merc. I used to change cars so often even I'd forget what I was driving when walking back to a car park lol!!

Well done Matt. Had my cat over two years now, longest I have had a car I owned myself,. She has now been semi retired and the Volvo has taken over daily duties. Doubt I`ll ever sell her but who can say

Lol I know all about Manos and his cats lol

Kully your right mate the car is a money pit ;) i've spent almost the buying price on mods etc over the years.
I probably would have changed if i'd had the money but as it stands the car has and still is costing me too much money ....Catch 22

This thread has made me wonder how long you lot have had cougars for! I just sort of assumed you'd all had cougars forever!

feb 2010 i got mine, it's first few months of ownership was expensive with the double alternator swap, the rear sub frame that turned into a colander and the n/s front wishbone, it's levelled out now though and i've started to do little mods, only cheap stuff mind, family first don't forget hahahaha
