Thundercat

But we don't all have supercharged V6's!

A group/club purchase is a total no go in my eyes. Too many people means too many ideas etc and it'd never work. To register it as club car would mean a company/hire car style registration on the V5 and an annual insurance policy to match. No one is going to want to accept liability for the car without insurance. Where will it live, who is going to provide space for it? Who does the regular housekeeping of washing/waxing/vacuuming/polishing etc? Not fair to put that all on one person. How would the car be transported from member to member if it's to be available to different people?

The only way any of that could even be an idea is if it ALL came out of one pot, insurance, maintenance, fuel, transport etc etc. So who puts into the pot? If only certain people put in to a "club car" it's then not a club car.

Any suggestions or ideas of a multi-owner purchase should be disregarded and forgotten as far as I'm concerned unless a group of buyers setup an agreement away from the club on their own terms.

The notion of a club car is ludicrous IMO as it'd never work. Too many chefs and all that.

Well said that man!!

I agree Viv, and Kully as i have mentioned previously in this thread, but Kully! what's ginja got to do with this?

Too many Ginja's spoil the broth (or scare the people!!)

Or state the obvious

If you were woried about driving it then it could be trailered to shows

I must admit like Paul I would like to know how he damaged the air-bag cover (was there an air bag under it) and why the leathers have gone and the buckled alloys, does sound like something has happened that we aint privy too...or am I stating the obvious again

As the cop in the Simpsons likes to say
Move away please nothing to see here

Aww Kully you're spoiling my fun

In all seriousness I do maintain it's doable, but would require a step change in the way the whole place is set up, and with that a large commitment of time and money from those involved. Given that most here either have no money and/or no time, that would make it unviable.

What a load of old cobblers, group buys etc, it's seen better days and as sad as it is, the car never lived up to all Pauls expectations, I could easily buy it at that price and probably do the work on it, but after owning two cougars, I wouldn't have another, especially one that the engine had been worked on by a con man and the bodywork by inept people. One person should buy it if they really want the hassle but I would let it go, seems like it's been grief for whoever has owned it, time to let the dream go. I can relate slightly to Paul's attitude to Autocrap and was never a fan of Twisted vision as I made perfectly clear at silverstone in 2007 when the bloke was lying about the paintwork, maybe the good stuff, if anything is left, should be salvaged for other cars.

And Ginja, it's alright saying it should have stayed in the club, we didn't see you rushing to buy it so what makes you think that you have the right to say that others should've done?

I was saying if people was botherd they should have bought it at the time not go on about how this that and the other could have been done better and group buys etc.
I didn't buy it then and I wouldn't now....why..because it was a sack of s*** and still is...there thats why if i'm brutaly honest (n)

for me , no.1, got nowhere to put it , repairing it wouldn't be too much of a problem , the big but is , it'll always be seen as shagmonkeys cat ! we all like to put our individual stamps on our motors , not really a lot you could with thundercat , and even if you could think of something it'll always be thundercat built by shag ! thats the big put off me !

That's a bit harsh Matt, it might be a pile of pop now, but when Paul sold it, although it had problems, it still stood head and shoulders above the majority of Cougars in the country.

im having a thought here...........opps no its gone, there was a concept cougar on ebay in metalic grey, just like that one on here, and they wanted £2000, it got sold, so someone out there has this grey one, i looked at all the quotes, oh man if its that shagged out it aint worth repairing eh? shame though stuff happens ive seen with some guys i know here mercs and bmws all knackered curbed dented couldnt give a banana for their cars one geezer i know i said oi whats up with you? hes says its just a lump of metal mate when ive trashed it ill go get another ..see what i mean :)

I have had another chat with the owner of Thundercat, he still has the other two Kahn alloys and a full set of the BK`s.

I think he is just wanting to get rid of the car now and draw a line under the whole episode so he is open to any reasonable cash offers

Despite all of the above, I still think it is worth saving

such a shame, but i think the general consenus is right.

This is a project for an individual, perhaps two or three friends, but not group buy.

I would love to see the car bought by someone on here.

Depending on how much he wants ( in real money, not stupid £1500 ) I would take this on for sure. But he was asking way to much for a Cat C car.

Well to be honnest mate if you had seen the work...ahem..that hadn't been done properly then you would see my point, I don't mean to offend people, even Paul had enough of it and it was his dream, it looked stunning at Ford Fair when it was on the Fast Ford stand, but after that it all went downhill and details of the mishaps and shody build quality came to light on the forum, thats when the bubble burst. :(

My Cougar is listed as a Cat C..............3 times!! The last time was for a cracked front bumper!! The time before that was a smallish dent in the rear quarter panel, so being listed as a Cat C means diddly squat, unfortunately it carries a stigma with it.

The car is a Cat C mate, I have seen the pics. It is not just a scratch we are talking about here.
