Not surprised he didn’t see you. He did well not to damage those fences !
Agreed I treat ALL car drivers as clueless idiot who are out to kill me.
I’ve learned lots of tricks over the years. Never sit in a drivers blind spot, that’s about 4 of 5 o clock as they sit in the drivers seat. ( It’s the gap between the rear view door mirror ending and your hitting their peripheral vision at 2 or 3 o clock when alongside the driver )
Similar blind spot on the other side of the car, between 7 and 9 or 10 o clock.
I also make a habit of moving sideways in my lane when on a main road and approaching a side road if there is a car waiting to pull onto the main road. Has the car in the sitting at the give way line at the their T junction seen me ? I move from one side to another within my lane, there is more chance of the car driver seeing the bikers headlight move sideways and realise it’s a bike and not a reflection off somethething.
Oh and I stick to 30 or 40 if that’s the limit. It gives you time to react and get on the brakes when the blind guy does pull out, or the kiddy runs into the road. At 30 you might stop. At 50 definitely wont.
Bike against any pedestrian at 50 and there’s a very good chance you’ll KILL THEM.
I really don’t want that on my conscience.
So anyways, new addition to the fleet, those who have FB have been watching this develop over the last few weeks or so lol but say hello to the Pit Bitch lol
Started out as a 2009 Stomp 140 and after a few mods, additions, upgrades, swear words, wheels, more swear words, new bits and skateboard wheels (yes you did read right lol) it's pretty much now where it needs to be which is a supermoto pit bike, that's 140 of your finest chinesium cc's on 12" slicks with dodgy upgrade brakes, and very suspect suspension that just makes you giggle endlessly every time it tries to kill you lol.
Stew and Michelle already have their own, i just need to see if it's possible to get hold of a Kane sized one
Anyway heres some pics being as i can't edit post #1 lol
Yeah they are a giggle lol mainly used on kart tracks, hence the slicks, indoor ones are a hoot lol they even do full wets which are stupid sticky, on it's side in the rain without crashing lol
Loving those front forks, they’re mahoosive, way bigger than those on my Fazer thou
Wonderful DR too, fantastic colour scheme, my love of trail bikes started back in ‘81 when I bought my first bike, a Yamaha DT50 - oh the power

......I was messing about with the DRX, couple of things to sort, one of which was contacting Kev SDM to get his Dad to knock me a custom seat up, as the standard ones leave me with a numb backside after about 30 mins in the saddle.......
So after a bit of a chat, and showing Derek what I was after, we discussed replacing the cover and quite a bit of the 29 year old foam and vinyl lol, went to fetch it and was stunned not only with the quality, but also the price and what he'd actually come up with!!! So cheap and looks brilliant!!

Also if you look at the last photo you'll see that the end of the mufflers finishes inside of the box support frame, this was causing some minor overheating of the box mount fittings and some discolouration of the ali on the box from the exhaust, so attacked with a grinder, cutter and welder and came up with a 4" extension to both exits on the Y pipe.........
Also as you can see above, i've added some aircraft grade crimped stainless sheet to hopefully keep some of the heat from the exhaust away from the bottom of the battery box.

Also had some vinyl to add to the boxes as the frame had started to wear on the ali a bit
So now it's almost where I want it, some inspections and adjustments to the motor will be next followed by some paint on the bits i've just modified/made, Happy Days
Loving the pit bike but the DR is absolutely wonderful You’ve got a cracking bike there and your mods are only making it better, I’ve now got ‘search alerts’ on eBay and Autotrader - just don’t tell the wife
I know, everything from the 80’s thru to the late 90’s is so expensive now, far too many mid 40/50 year olds with cash in their pockets trying to revive their biking youth
Made a new plate to reinforce the frame mounts for the TLR so i can do a rear shock conversion to Ohlins, which i picked up cheap a while ago, i've already had it serviced, and just need to repaint the spring and knock up some new bushes
Also managed to find some very rare shiny for it
No it wasn't cheap!!! lol
Some stickers may have fell on these 2 lol

Had an issue with the DRX where it wouldn't turn off unless you hit the kill switch lol
Broken wire found in the back of the ignition barrell along with some previous owners wiring mods lol but soon sorted that......
Also found a NOS speedo off a later model which comes in an ali case, already heard that the internals are the same so the old one which was pretty much shot....
And set about the brand new one with a screwdriver lol
And fitted the internals into the old binnacle, happy days
Oh yeah chucked a new rear tyre on it too, so no more souare corners for a while lol
Looking good TC, you clearly like taking bits apart and exploring. I wish I had the time and space to do the same, maybe after I retire, whenever that might be.
The worst square tyre I’ve ridden was decades ago on my GL1100 gold wing. ( just before it went Aspencade )
Because it was so hidden I hadn’t noticed how bad it was.
I got to thinking it feels strange, so took a peep, literally square and slick on the flat, might explain why it was drifting in the wet ! Skinny tyre too by today’s standards.
