What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Been working on Gemma's car today, we have swapped the rear speakers as hers had blown, swapped her parcel shelf for a sturdy one, installed the ford cd changer in the boot and run the wiring loom, Fitted a replacement drivers side mirror as the left right catch was broken, replaced a drop link on the drivers side and fitted a HID kit, we were planning on swapping her alternator but on inspection she needs a new serpentine belt so will order one of them and do both jobs together, also sorted out the exhaust knocking, it was hitting the tow eye on the rear passenger side, angle grinder and a big hammer sorted that, once again I have a happy bunny as a girlfriend (y)

sorry didn't know the speakers were gone got a spare set on the one i'm breaking your more than welcome to, also if the parcel shelf is any use
glad the exhaust was an easy fix remembered it was something along those lines

Not today, but end of last week, picked up my refurbed alloys. Looking sweet, but the centre caps need a bit of adjustment to match the alloy colour, so going to have some fun with a spray can soon . . .
Al will be providing cougar logos for the caps.

Had the air con regassed. It stopped working over winter/spring at some point, had it refilled cheap at a garage round the corner a few weeks ago and it was still crap.
On a recommendation from a relative I used Cool Car in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield, B'ham. Paid a bit more but Aircon now seems to be working. The moral - use someone you trust and not the cheap guy round the corner, aircon filling is obviously not as straightforward as you might think.

Sorry mods if posting a link is not allowed, just remove it.

Pulled all the interior from the c2 and fitted the clocks, steering wheel, & door cards on the c1. Having second thoughts about the seats.

Today i pulled off the powerflow exhaust, cats, and the rear subframe, Now that was a bugger. I need to find a locking wheel nut key now then stripe the engine down.:D

I have just finished ripping out my HID's from main and dipped beams and replaced with some 100 W Xenon bulbs getting the car ready for it's MOT on 9/9/2013. Going to wire brush the Power Steering pipes that run along the sub-frame on the drivers side and give them a soaking in Fertan rust treatment then a coat of hammerite as they are looking a bit sad at the moment.

Well it wasn't today, but over the weekend with the help of my learned friends from UKC I....

Drained all the fluids, took out the 3L Duratec, removed the air conditioning system, fitted a new LUK clutch, a Fidanza lightened flywheel, a well-kept MTX75 gearbox with Quaife limited slip diff and an Unorthodox Racing underdrive crank pulley plus a new aux belt which took all that into account.

Then I got up early the next morning to attack the filthy engine bay with a bottle of Gunk. We then put the lump back into the car with extremely rough heads, bolted the lot back together and due to some miracle or other actually got the car started.

I spent Sunday evening and Monday morning finishing up the odd connection and hose. Monday night I finally solved my flattening vac hose issue (which was causing a hunting idle) using an opportunely curved section of the now defunct air con system. Tuesday morning I pulled out the air con rad (so I could see Derek ;)) and went to work. I foolishly put the car into a local garage for a brake bleed which resulted in some clutch slipping and cursing but that was resolved yesterday evening.

Once I was happy that all was well with the clutch I found I had a flat spot at around 5000rpm which I now know is down to a weakened or failing fuel pump as this issue vanishes with a full tank.

I then ragged the holy living f*** out of it.

It's rapid. :)

Oh, and now I'm giving serious thought as to what comes next. :giggle:
